SOFT KEY FUNCTION [8] www.uniden.com Soft Key Function "Soft" k eys are keys that chan ge functi on during th e operation o f the phon e. Th er e are thr ee soft keys on the base and thr ee on each han dset. The fun ction of each so ft key is d etermine d by the i con that appears dir ectly above it.

Choose the best location When ch oosing a locati on for your n ew phon e , he re ar e some impo rtant gui delin es you sh ould con si der: • The location sh ould be close to both a phon e jack and a contin uous power outlet (one which is n ot connected to a switch ).
GETTING S TARTED [10] www.uniden.com B . Install the rechargeable batter y pack into th e handset, and charge f or at least 15-20 hours befor e using! The h andset is po wered by a rech arg eable battery pack. Th e battery r echar ges automati cally when th e handse t is placed in the base unit .

[33] BASICS www.uniden.com Making and Receiving Calls This handset has a built-in sp eakerph one that allows you to have a hands-fr ee conversati on. T his feature allows you to easily communi cate while performin g other tasks , such as cookin g. appears on the display durin g hands-fr ee conversation s.
