10 INST ALLA TION Pow ering Up the RIPC 1. Connect th e includ ed power supply unit into an available power outlet. 2. A ttach th e barrel plug into th e power jack located on the r ear of the RIPC to the power unit. 3. T urn on your KVM Switch. If you do not have a KVM Switch, please pr oceed with powering up your computers .

USING YOUR RIPC 17 Note: Be sure to change the administrator-user password immediately after you have installed and accessed your RIPC for the first time . Main Screen After a successful login, th e RIPC will present its m ain screen fr ames (see Figur e below).
USING YOUR RIPC 18 Log Out from the RIPC This link logs out the curr ent user and pr esents a n ew login screen. An automati c logout will occur if ther e is no ad min activity for a period o f 30 minutes—f ollowing a prompt f or re-en try of the passwor d.

USING YOUR RIPC Remote Access Options The Rem ote Access title bar displays inform ation about th e incoming (In:) an d outgoin g (Out:) network traffi c. If you ar e using the compr essed encodin g, both compressed an d uncompressed in coming tr affic will be indi cated.
USING YOUR RIPC 21 Single (Direct) Mouse Mode If all synchr onization option s fail, it is still possible to work with th e remote m ouse by selectin g the single-m ouse mod e, usin g the im age button.
USING YOUR RIPC 22 Video Settings The RIPC featur es a panel to set up the fo llowing vid eo options , available in the Remote A ccess Options m enu. Note: Brightness and contrast controls affect all modes and KVM ports globally; the other settings are changed specifically f or each mode on each KVM port.
SECURITY 23 P orts & Protocols For ce HTTPS If this option is en abled, access to the W eb front-en d is only possible using an HTTPS connecti on. The RIPC won’t work on the HTTP port f or incomin g connecti ons. HTTPS P ort P ort number at which th e HTTPS server is set to.

In order to pr ovid e KVM port switching through th e RIPC, key combinati ons have to be d efined for th e ports.
