(For best r esults, screw th e connectors in to the Switch an d the computer , when possible .
11 INS T ALLA TION Connecting Computers to the Switch (USB Connection) 1. A ttach the IEC power cable to th e power connector located on th e rear o f the Switch.
12 INS T ALLA TION 4. Boot the computer you wish to connect vi a USB, as you would n ormally , with the k eyboar d, m ouse , and m onitor connected dir ectly to the computer . 5. Y our computer will detect the Switch as a g eneri c mouse and k eyboard .

18 USING YOUR S WITCH N ow that you have connected your consoles an d computers to your Switch, it is read y for use . Y ou can select connected computers by the dir ect-access port selectors, located on the fr ont pan el of th e Switch, hot k ey comman ds, or th e On-Screen Display .

22 USING YOUR S WITCH IntelliView Gr aphical On-Screen Display Menu Contr ol The In telliView Gr aphical On-Scr een Display (OSD) is inten ded to have a look an d feel similar to popular Wind ows-based operatin g systems f or PCs. T o activate the On-Screen Display , pr ess on “Scroll Lock + Scr oll Lock + space bar” on your keyboard .

A t a glance , the user can view th e server’s group, computer nam e , port location s, connecti on status, an d security mod e . The M ain page could also be used to n avigate through th e connected server .
25 USING YOUR S WITCH Mouse Column The m ouse column displays the status o f the curr ent m ouse connecti on, and is updated in r eal time . If the connection to th e computer is via a PS/2 cable , a small m ouse i con is displayed. If th e mouse conn ection to th e computer is via U SB, the US B triden t symbol is displayed.

27 USING YOUR S WITCH Scan Time an d “Chang e All” Button The user can r eset the scan tim e for all computers by en tering a value fr om 1–99 in the edit bo x and cli cking on th e “Chang e All” button. The user will be ask ed to confirm the acti on befor e the n ew time is appli ed.

35 USING YOUR S WITCH To start the update pr ocess, you m ust run the A utoUpdate appli cation by selectin g “A utoUpdate .exe” fr om the start m enu, or a d esktop shortcut. The first scr een of th e AutoUpd ate applicati on will prompt th e user to select an automati c or man ual upd ate .
36 USING YOUR S WITCH Updating Devices via the W eb When you start th e AutoUpd ate applicati on, it search es your computer for d evices that support the upd ate process . It also autom atically conn ects to the W eb an d search es for available upd ates for th e devi ces that are f ound .
37 USING YOUR S WITCH Befor e the A utoUpdate begin s, a warnin g screen will be displayed , informin g the user of th e risks involved in proceedin g with the upd ate , and acti ons that sh ould be avoid ed while the upd ate is in progr ess.

AutoUpd ate does minim al checkin g to determin e whether th e selected file is valid in this m ode . 40 USING YOUR S WITCH When th e update is complete , th e Ne xt button will become active , allowin g the user to complete the upd ate . If the d ownload fails f or any r eason, a dialog bo x will appear with an option to r etry the upd ate . If the appli cation has completed su ccessfully , this screen will be displayed.
41 USING YOUR S WITCH Completing the Firmw are Update The Switch n eeds to be power-cycled (or reset) after a su ccessful download , so that it can progr am its intern al componen ts. Th e update pr ocess will not be complete until th e devi ce has been power-cycled.
42 TROUBLESHOOTING I’ve dais y-chained multiple Switches; now I w ant to add another console . What do I need to do to get it running? • If you want to ad d your console to a Switch that is alr eady in your d aisy-chain with its DIP switches set fr om 00 through 01, you simply have to conn ect your m onitor , keyboard , and m ouse .
