A-5 General Instructions Y our Weber Gas Barbecue is a portable outdoor cooking appliance. With the Weber Gas Barbecue you can grill, barbecue, roast and bake with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flavorizer ® Bars produce that “ outdoor ” flavor in the food.

B-1 Assemble wheel frame Y ou will need: axle rod, two wheel hubcaps, two wheels, wheel fr ame, hammer and a b lock of w ood. Place one end of the axle rod on the block of wood (or other protected surface). T ap one hubcap onto the end of the axle rod.
B-2 Complete frame assembl y Y ou will need: par tial frame assembly , two frame connectors, f our 2 inch bolts, f our nylon washers and a 7/16 inch or adjustab le wrench. Hold one frame connector between the caster frame and wheel frame. Add the nylon washer to the bolt.
B-3 Insert casters Y ou will need: frame assembly and tw o casters. Push the casters firmly into the inserts in the ends of the caster frame. (1) (2) Add cooking bo x (assembly) Y ou will need: frame assembly , cooking bo x (assem- bly), 2 inch bolt, n ylon washer , keps nut, pliers and a 7/ 16 inch or adjustable wrench.
B-4 Y our Weber Gas Grill Manifold assembly consisting of gas manifold, valves and gas burners has been factory assembled, pressure- and flame- tested. As a safety precaution, we recommend you check the burner alignment: 1) Are the ends of the burners under the washers at the left rear and left front of the cooking box? The screws are only guides.
B-5 Install igniter Note - The igniter wires are already attached to the Gas Catcher Ignition Chamber and the igniter . This was done to f actor y test the ignition system. The igniter lock nut is on the igniter . 1) Loosen the igniter lock nut. 2) Insert the top of the igniter up through the large part of the keyhole in the frame brace.
B-6 Check that all b urner valves are off Y ou will need: burner control knobs. V alves are shipped in the OFF position, but you should check to be sure that they are turned OFF . Put the knob on each valve. Check by pushing down and turning clockwise.
B-7 Install the slide out bottom tray Y ou will need: the slide out bottom tra y(1), catch pan holder(2), catch pan and one disposable drip pan. Hook the ends of the catch pan holder into the hole in the slide out bottom tray . The front of the catch pan holder must be on the same side as the finger grip(1) of the bottom tray .
B-8 Install contr ol panel and burner contr ol knobs Y ou will need: control panel, two Phillips screws/ washers , a Phillips screwdriv er , and burner control knobs. 1) Set the control panel in place over both frame braces. Hold the Crossover Ignition button up while setting the control panel in place.
C-1 Installing Features C075.a (1) Install the right end trim piece with tool holders and right swing-up w ork surface Y ou will need: Right tr im piece with tool holders , right s wing-up work surface , swing-up work surf ace rod, one 1/2 inch bolt, one nylon w asher and a wrench 1.
C-2 (1) (2) View from underneath View inside of control panel 4.) While holding swing-up work surface in position, insert the other end of the swing-up work surface rod into the right end trim piece (1).
C-3 Install side burner Y ou will need: side burner , m W ARNING: Make sure gas supply is off. Start the side burner hose into the opening between the control panel and right trim piece. T ilt the side burner slightly , toward the control panel. Latch the side burner locking clip on the left, under the control panel.
C-4 Connect the side burner hose as follows: 1) Slide back the collar of the quick disconnect on the manifold. 2) Push the male fitting of the side burner hose into the quick disconnect, and maintain pressure. Slide the collar closed. (1) (2) Quick disconnect will be engaged.
C-5 Install the work surface Y ou will need: work surface. Place the work surface, so that the front and back edges fit over the frame, in the area between the left trim piece and the cooking box as shown. Do not use the work surface as a cutting boar d.
C-6 Check f or gas leaks m D ANGER Do not use an open flame to chec k for gas leaks. Be sure there are no sparks or open flames in the area while y ou chec k f or leaks. Sparks or open flames will result in a fire or explosion, which can cause serious bodily injury or death and damage to pr oper ty .
C-7 Check: 1) Hose to manifold connection 2) Manifold to side burner hose connection m W ARNING: If there is a leak at connection(1), retighten the fitting with a wrench and rechec k for leaks with soap and water solution. If a leak persists after retightening the fitting, turn OFF the gas.
C-8 Install the bottom shelf Y ou will need: Bottom shelf. Set the bottom shelf in place between the two frame connectors underneath the cooking box. Install the thermometer Y ou will need: Thermometer . Insert the thermometer into its holder on the right side of the lid.
D-1 Lighting Summar y lighting instructions are on the control panel. D ANGER F ailure to open the lid while igniting the barbecue’ s burners, or not waiting 5 minutes to allo w the gas to c lear if the barbecue does not light, may result in an explosive flame-up whic h can cause serious bodily injury or death.

D-3 Lighting the Side Burner The side burner has a separate ignition system from the main cooking bo x. CA UTION: Side burner flame ma y be difficult to see on a bright sunny da y . W ARNING: If the side burner does not light: 1) T urn OFF the side burner contr ol valve.
D-4 Cooking W ARNING: Do not mo ve the W eber Gas Barbecue when operating or while barbecue is hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT and BA CK burners as desired. The control settings: High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your W eber cookbook.
D-5 Annual Maintenance After a period of nonuse, we recommend that y ou perf orm the following maintenance procedures f or your saf ety . W ARNING: Chec k the hose before each use of the barbecue for nic ks, cracking, abrasions or cuts. If the hose is found to be damaged in an y way , do not use the barbecue.
D-6 General Maintenance Weber Spider Stopper ™ Guards Y our W eber Gas Barbecue, as w ell as any outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the v entur i section (V entur i(1), air shutter(2), venturi fin(3) ) of the b ur ner tubes.
D-7 (1) (1) (1) (2) (1) Replacing Main Burners 1) Y our W eber Gas Barbecue must be OFF and cool. 2) T ur n gas OFF at source. 3) T o remov e control panel: take off the b ur ner control knobs. Remove the scre ws holding the control panel in place. Lift off the control panel.
D-8 Cr ossover ® Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er Ignition System fails to ignite the Left burner , light the Left burner with a match. If the Left burner lights with a match, then check the Crosso v er Ignition System. ■ Check that both the white(1) and b lack(2) ignition wires are attached properly .
D-9 T r oubleshooting Pr oblem Chec k Cure Burners b urn with a yello w or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Inspect W eber Spider Stopper Guards for possib le obstructions. (Blockage of holes .) Clean Weber Spider Stopper Guards. (See Section “ Annual Maintenance ” ) Burner does not light, or flame is low in HIGH position.
D-10 Side Burner T r oubleshooting Pr oblem Chec k Cure Side Burner does not light. Flame is low in HIGH position. Flame is very yello w in conjunction with the smell of gas, OR Burner makes popping noise in conjunction with the smell of gas. Push button ignition does not work.
