With the W eber Gas Barbecue you can grill, barbecue, roast and bake with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flavorizer® Bars produce that “outdoor” flavor in the food.

A-9 Remove P acka ging from Grill Remove all tape from packaging. Remove bottom rack from top of packaging. Remove outer box. Pull out bottom tray from cooking box. Remove packaging material from bottom tray , catch pan holder , catch pan, and drip pan.

B-1 Assemb l y Instructions B053.a (1) (2) (1) Install the slide out bottom tray Y ou will need: the slide out bottom tra y(1), catch pan holder(2), catch pan and one disposable drip pan. (1) Hook the ends of the catch pan holder into the hole in the slide out bottom tra y .
B-2 Installing the warming rac k Y ou will need: war ming rac k. Set the warming rack into the slots at the rear of the cooking bo x. Installing the Warm-Up™ Basket Y ou will need: W arm-Up Basket I.
C-1 Check that all b urner valves are off Y ou will need: burner control knobs. V alv es are shipped in the OFF position, but y ou should check to be sure that the y are tur ned OFF . Put the knob on each valve. Check by pushing down and turning clockwise.
C-2 Important LP Cylinder Information F ailure to f ollow these D ANGER statements exactly ma y result in a fire causing death or ser ious injury . D ANGER NEVER store a spare LP Cylinder under or near this barbecue. NEVER fill the tank bey ond 80% full.
C-3 (1) Connect filled liquid propane c ylinder W ARNING: Make sure that the c ylinder valve is closed. Close b y turning cloc kwise . Remove plastic dust cover from the fuel cylinder valve. Screw the regulator coupling onto the tank valve(1), clockwise , or to the r ight.
C-4 Connect side b urner to manifold W ARNING: Make sure gas suppl y is off. Connect the side burner hose as follows: 1) Slide back the collar of the quick disconnect on the manifold. 2) Push the male fitting of the side burner hose into the quick disconnect, and maintain pressure.
C-5 Reinstall control panel (after c hecking f or gas leaks) (1) Set the control panel in place ov er both sides of the frame. Hold the crossover ignition b utton up while setting the control panel in place. (2) Line up the control panel with the white plastic plugs in the frame brace .
D-1 Lighting Summar y lighting instructions are on the control panel. 1) Open the lid. 2) Make sure all b ur ner control knobs are turned OFF . (Push control knob down and turn clockwise to ensure that it is in the OFF position.
D-2 To Extinguish Push down and turn eac h burner control knob cloc kwise to the OFF position. T urn gas supply OFF at the source. Manual Lighting *The grill illustrated ma y hav e slight differences than the model purchased.
D-3 Lighting the Side Burner The side burner has a separate ignition system from the main cooking bo x. W ARNING: If the side b urner does not light: 1) T urn OFF the side b urner control v alve . 2) Wait 5 minutes to let the gas c lear before y ou tr y again or try to light with a match.
D-4 Cooking W ARNING: Do not move the W eber Gas Barbecue when operating or while barbecue is hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT and BA CK burners as desired. The control settings: High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your W eber cookbook.
D-5 Refilling the Liquid Pr opane Cylinder W e recommend that you refill the LP cylinder bef ore it is completely empty . Remov al of the LP cylinder 1) Close cylinder valv e (turn clockwise). 2) Unscrew regulator coupling b y tur ning counterclockwise , by hand only .
D-6 Y ou will need: LP cylinder , a soap and water solution and a rag or brush to apply it. 1) T ur n the LP cylinder so the opening of the valv e is either to the front, side or rear of the W eber Gas Barbecue. Lift and hook the cylinder onto the fuel gauge.
D-7 Safe handling tips f or Liquid Pr opane Gas Cylinder s ■ Liquid Propane (LP) gas is a petroleum product as are gasoline and natural gas. LP gas is a gas at regular temperatures and pressures. Under moderate pressure, inside a cylinder , LP gas is a liquid.
D-8 Annual Maintenance After a period of nonuse, we recommend that y ou perf or m the follo wing maintenance procedures f or y our saf ety . W ARNING: Check the hose bef ore each use of the barbecue for nic ks, cracking, abrasions or cuts. If the hose is found to be dama g ed in an y way , do not use the barbecue.
D-9 General Maintenance Weber Spider /Insect screens Y our W eber Gas Barbecue, as well as any outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the v enturi section(1) of the bur ner tubes. This blocks the normal gas flow , and can cause the gas to flow bac k out of the air shutter .
D-10 (2) (1) (1) Replacing Main Burners 1) Y our W eber Gas Barbecue must be OFF and cool. 2) T ur n gas OFF at source. 3) T o remove control panel: take off the burner control knobs. Remo ve the scre ws holding the control panel in place. Lift off the control panel.
D-11 Cr ossover ® Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er Ignition System fails to ignite the Left burner , light the Left burner with a match. If the Left burner lights with a match, then check the Crossov er Ignition System. ■ Check that both the white(1) and b lack(2) ignition wires are attached properly .
D-12 T r oub leshooting Pr oblem Check Cure Burners b urn with a yellow or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Inspect Spider/Insect Screens for possible obstructions. (Blockage of holes.) Clean Spider/Insect Screens. (See Section “ Annual Maintenance ” ) Burners do not light.
D-13 Side Burner T r oub leshooting Pr oblem Check Cure Side Burner does not light. Flame is low in HIGH position. Flame is very yellow in conjunction with the smell of gas, OR Burner makes popping noise in conjunction with the smell of gas. Push button ignition does not work.
1 Assemb l y Instructions Install manif old bracket Y ou will need: manifold brac ket Hook the bracket(2) onto the manifold at the center burner valve. Place your hand underneath the bracket. Lift the manifold and cooking box slightly , then hook the tab of the bracket on the frame brace(1).
