3 15. The treadmill is capable of high speeds. Adjust the speed in small increments to avoid sudden jumps in speed. 16. T o reduce the possibility of the treadmill overheating, do not operate the treadmill continuously for longer than one hour . 17. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running.
4 BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the WESLO ¨ CADENCE DX10 treadmill. The CADENCE DX10 combines advanced technology with innovative design to let you enjoy an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise in the conve- nience and privacy of your home.
1. Note that the Right Handrail and the Console Base (not shown) are connected to the treadmill by a Wire Harness. During assembly steps 1 through 5, be careful not to pull on or damage the Wire Harness. With the help of a second person, carefully lay the treadmill on its side.
4. With the help of a second person, hold the Console Base (12) and the Right Handrail (32) near the right Upright (31) as shown. Insert the Wire Harness (28) down into the right Upright; bend the Wire Harness, if necessary . Next, insert the bracket on the Right Handrail into the right Upright.
10 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, unplug the power cord. Caution: Y ou must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) in order to raise, lower or move the treadmill. 1. Hold the treadmill with your hands in the locations shown at the right.
8 DIAGRAM OF THE CONSOLE Clip Key Speed Control Monitor Display BA TTERY INST ALLA TION The console requires two "AA" batteries (not includ- ed). Alkaline batteries are recommended. T o install batteries, open the battery cover as shown below .
9 Insert the key fully into the power switch. Inserting the key will not turn on the dis- play . The display will turn on when the ON/RESET button is pressed or when the walking belt is start- ed. Note: If you just installed batteries, the display will already be on.
7 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE TM W ALKING BEL T Y our treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE TM , a high-performance lubricant. IMPORT ANT : Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking plat- form.
11 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left hand, slide open the storage latch. Pivot the treadmill until the catch and the foot rail are past the storage latch. 2. Hold the treadmill firmly with both hands, and lower the treadmill to the floor .
12 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLE-SHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below . Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. 13 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt has shifted to the left , first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD . Using the allen wrench, turn the left rear roller adjust- ment bolt clockwise, and the right bolt counterclock- wise, 1/4 of a turn each.
14 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your exer- cise program. RememberÑthese are general guide- lines only . For more detailed exercise information, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown in the drawings below . Move slowly as you stretchÑnever bounce. 1. T oe T ouch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
