3 1. Before beginning this or any exercise pro- gram, consult your physician. This is espe- cially important for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health prob- lems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 18. The treadmill is capable of high speeds. Adjust the speed in small increments to avoid sudden jumps in speed. 19. The pulse sensors are not medical devices. Various factors, including the user's move- ment, may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings.

ASSEMBL Y Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials; do not dispos e of the p ack ing m ater ial s unt il ass embl y is co mpl eted . Note: The underside of the treadmill walking b elt is coated with high-performance lubricant.

8 5. See the left inset drawing. Identify the two Frame Spacers (11). Open the included packet of grease, and apply grease to both sides of both F rame Spacers.
8. See the upper inset drawing. If there is a guard on the end of the Console Wire, press the indi- cated tab and remove the guard with needlenose pliers. Discard the guard. Wi t h t he h e l p o f a se c o nd p e r so n , h ol d t h e C on s o le (91) near the Right Upright (54).
11. See the lower drawing. Position the Uprights (53, 54) so that the treadmill Frame (51) is cen- tered between the Uprights. Firmly tighten the two Colored Patch Frame Bolts (1) and the four Upright Bolts (2) (only one side is shown). Be careful not to overtighten the Colored Patch Frame Bolts.
1 1 1 1 13. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included hex keys in a secure place. The large hex key is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 20). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
12 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking b elt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
13 Key Clip CONSO LE DIAG RAM Pulse Sensor FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more effective. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
14 H OW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE Insert the ke y into the conso le. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 13. Selec t the man ual mo de. When the key is in- serted, the manual mode will be selected. If you have selected a speed program, rese- lect the manual mode by pressing the Program Select button repeatedly until only zeros appear in the displays.
15 T he console can dis- play speed and dis- tance in either miles or kilometers. To see w hich unit of measure- ment is selected, first r emove the key from the console. Next, hold down the Stop button, reinsert the k ey, w ait u ntil y ou hear a to ne, an d then re lease t he Stop b utton .
16 HOW TO USE A SPEED PROGRAM Insert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 13. Select one of the four speed programs. To select a speed pro- gram, press the Program Select bu.

18 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Next, lower the frame until it is past the latch pin. Then, release the latch knob.
19 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.

If the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill perfor- mance may decrease and the walking belt may be- come damaged.
