QUICK ST ART 10 PRODUCT INST ALLATION 11 To install the OmniGuard Rackmount UPS, the follo wing steps should be f ollo wed: 1. Find a pr oper location for th e UPS devi ce. 2. M ount th e device in to an appropri ate rack or alternative confi gurati on.
13 12 Mounting the UPS within the Rack The OmniGu ard Rackmoun t UPS inclu des a moun ting kit, whi ch inclu des two m oun ting br ackets f or a standar d 19-inch (48.3cm) r ack and eigh t retainin g screws f or mountin g the br ackets to the UPS d evice .
PRODUCT DIAGNOSTICS 15 14 Connecting your Equipment Plug the equipm ent into th e output receptacles on th e back panel of th e unit. If your UPS is a 3U rack, th ere are a total o f eigh t outlets, with seven outlets provi ding backup plus surg e protecti on and one outlet f or surg e-only protecti on.
PRODUCT DIAGNOSTICS 16 PRODUCT DIAGNOSTICS 17 T urning the Unit On/Off Press an d release the “ON/OFF/TEST” switch. After on e beep the unit will turn on and supply power to th e load. The load is immedi ately powered while the UPS run s a five-second self- test.
PRODUCT DIAGNOSTICS 18 PRODUCT DIAGNOSTICS 19 Alarms ON-BA TTERY When th e UPS is operating on th e batteries , the On-Line LED will blink an d the audible alarm will soun d every 10 seconds. Th e alarm will stop once th e UPS r eturn s to On-Line oper ation.
