5 Electrical R equirements Observe all gover ning cod es and ordinances. A 120 V olt, 60 Hz, AC only , 15- or 20 -a mp fused e lectr ical suppl y is r equired. ( A time -delay fus e or cir cuit br eaker is re commen ded .) It is recommended that a sepa rate circuit serv ing only this appliance be provided.
6 Designed Cooking Rack The cooking rack is ideal for two-level cooking. It provides extra cavity space for cooking two or more containers at the same time. The rack may b e turned upside-down in order to fit tall er containers on the bottom of the oven.
7 Number Codes The microwave oven is preset with shortcut number codes . A number code includes one or mor e of the following: cooking power , cook time and food qu antity or we ight. See the code charts in the “ Cooking ” and “ Reheat ing ” section s for addition al information.
8 MICROWAVE OVEN U SE A magnetron in the ov en produces microwaves which reflect off the metal floor , walls and ceiling a nd pass th rough the tur ntabl e and appropriate cookware to the food.
9 T o T es t Cookware or Dinnerware for Microwave Use: 1. Put cook ware or d i nnerwa re in oven with 1 cup (250 mL) of water besid e it. 2. Cook at 100% cooking p ower for 1 minute. Do not use cookwar e or dinnerwar e if it becomes hot a nd the wate r sta ys co ol.
10 T o Set a Cooking Power other than 1 00%: 1. T ouch COOK TIME. 2. T ouch the nu mber pads to set a length of time to co ok. 3. T ouch COOK POWER . 4. T ou ch the number pad using the Cooking Power chart . 5. T ouch ST AR T/ENTER. The di splay will count down t h e cook t i me.
11 Cooking in Stages The oven can be set to cook at differ ent cooking powers for variou s length s of tim e, up to fou r stages , inclu ding defrost and W a rm Hold. (Some models allo w only three stages, incl uding defrost.) T o Cook in Stages: 1. T ouch COOK TIME.
12 Wa r m H o l d (on s ome models) Hot cooked food can be kep t warm in th e microwave oven. Warm Hold can be used by itself or can be programmed to follow a cooking cycle . Opening the door du ring W arm Hold will cance l the func tion . To U s e : Put hot cooked food i n the oven.
13 Replacing F ilters The grease filters should be removed and cleaned at least once a month. The charcoal filter cannot be washed and sh ould be replaced every si x to twelve months. Do not opera te the microwave oven without the filters in p lace. See “ Assist ance or Serv ice ” to reorder filters.
14 TROUBLESHOOTING T ry the soluti ons suggest ed here fi rst in or der to avoid the cost of an unnecessary service call. Nothing will op erate ■ Has a ho usehold fuse been bl own or has the cir cuit br eaker been tripped? Replace th e fuse or reset the circuit.
