Positioning your projector 13 P ositioning your pr ojector Choosi ng a locat ion Y our projec tor is desig ned to be inst alled in one of four possible installat ion locations: 1. Floor in front of screen; 2. Ceiling in front of scree n; 3. Floor at rear of screen; 4.

This is the most common way to position the projector for quick setup and portability . II. Ceiling front Select this location with the projector suspended upside-down from the cei ling in front of the screen.

The maximum (nativ e) resolution of the projector is 1024 x 768 pixels, which is a 4 to 3 aspect ratio (expr essed as 4:3).

Connection 21 Connecting V ideo sourc e dev ices This section d escribes how t o connect the project or to V ideo sour ce devices usin g video cables. V ideo cable c onnections are r ecommended f or Vide o presentations. This projector also supports data (graphic) "PC" connection using Wi-Fi.
Connection 22 The audi o connections il lustr ated in the fol lowing se ctions a re provided for infor mational purposes only . Y ou need not co nnect audio to the projector if there is an a lternate sou nd syste m available, or if audio is not requir ed.
Connection 23 • The projector is only capable of playing mixed mono audio, even if a stere o audio input is conne cted. See "Connecting Audio" on page 21 for details. • Component Video is the only video output that delivers native 16:9 as pect ratio picture.
Connection 24 • If you have already made a Component Video connect ion between the projector and this S-Video source device using Component Video connections, you need not connect to this device using an S-Video connection as this makes an unnec essary second connection of poorer picture quality .
Operation 25 Operation Star t up 1. Plug the power cord into the projector and into a wall sock et. T urn on the wa ll socket swit ch (where fitted). Check that the Po w e r in d i c a to r on the projector lights orange after power has been applied. 2.
Operat ion 26 T o set a password: CAUTION: Once a password has been set, the projector cannot be used unless the correct pass word i s entered every time the projector is start ed. 1. Open th e on-screen menu and go to Setting > Pa s s wo r d . Select On by p ress in g Left 3 or Right 4 .

Operation 37 4. A dvance menu FUNCTION (default setting / value) DESCRIPTION Mirror (Floor front) The projector can be installed on a ceil ing or behind a screen, or with on e or more mirrors. C ontact your deale r for the ceiling mount bracket (optional acc essor y) if you need to install the project or on your ceiling.
Operat ion 38 High Altitude Mode (off) A mode for operation in areas lik e high altitude or high temperature. W e recommend you use the High Altitude Mode when your environment is higher than 3000 feet abov e sea level, or i s hotter than 40 °C , or whenever the projector wi ll be used for extended periods of time (>10 hours) without shutdown.
Operation 39 5. Information menu This menu shows you the cur rent oper ating s tatus of the projector . Some picture adjustment s are available only when certain input sources are in use. Maintenance 40 M aintenance Care of the pr ojector Y our project or needs little main tenance. The only thing yo u need to do o n a regular basis i s to k eep the lens clean. Nev er remov e any parts of the pr ojector ex cept the lamp . Contact y our dealer if other parts need re placing.
Maintenance 41 A warning messa ge like the one pictured t o the right will be displayed fo r 10 seconds every 500 hours to remind you to clean the filter . T o leave the message, press the Exit button on the projec tor or remote control. T o clean the filter: 1.
Maintenance 42 7. Refi t the filter case by ali gning and inserting it into the project or slot. 8. Press the case back until it clicks into plac e. 9. T urn the projector back on. If the ca se is not correctly se ated in place, the project or w ill display an on-scr een message as pictured to th e righ t ever y three minutes .
Maintenance 43 Lamp information Calculation of lamp hour Wh en the project or is in operation, the duration (in hours) of lamp usage is aut omatically calcula ted by the built-in timer.
Maintenance 44 Rep la c in g t h e l a m p • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, al ways turn the projector off and disconnect the power co rd before chan ging the la mp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burn s, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.

Pull the lamp f rom the project or . • Pulling it too quickly may cause the lamp to break and scatter broken glass in the projector . • Do not place the lamp in locations where water might splash on it, children can reach it , or near flammable materi als.
