5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWER Unpacking from carton • Cut al ong corner s of the c arton and l ay it down flat. See Figu re 1. Remove packing materia l. • Remove an y loose par ts included with unit (i.e ., operator’s manual, etc.) .

7 SECTION 3: KNOW YOUR SNOW THROWER Read this owner ’s manual and s afety rul es and labels before o perating your sn ow throw er. Comp are the illustr ations in Fi gure 9 with your equipm ent to f amiliar ize yo urself with the location of var ious c ontrols and adjustme nts.
8 SECTION 4: OPERATING YOUR SNOW THROWER Fuel and oil mixture WARNING: Handle gasoline carefully; remember th at it is highly flammable. Never fill fuel tank indoors, when engine is running or while engine is still hot. Do not smoke when filling fuel tank.
9 SECTION 5: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: NEVER attempt to clean chute or make an y adju s tments or re pair s w hile the engine is running. Shav e plate • To check the adjustment of the shave plate, pl ace the un it on a level su rface. Se e Fi gure 12.
