11 Layer M ode In La yer mode tw o vo ices ma y be play ed simultaneously , each at selected v olumes. T o enter Lay er mode, press and hold the button t o select the Main sound, then press the button fo r Lay er sound, and release. The buttons will lig ht, the two voic es will sound simultaneously and the LED w ill indicate: LY R .

14 SONG RECORDING The Song Rec or der built into the piano can r ecor d two individual tracks, allowing you t o reco rd one part and then rec ord a sec ond, complementar y part w hile the first part is being played back. To Record a Track Pr ess the [SONG] button and the [METR ONOME] button sim ultaneously to ent er R ecor d W ait Mode.
15 W hen the LED display sho ws the t rack you wish to rec ord t o, you ma y begin playing whenever you ar e ready , and reco rding will automatically begin as soon as you pla y the first note. To Cancel Recording While in Record Wait Mode: T urn the [D A T A CONTROL] knob until the LED display sho ws: CAN .
16 T urn the [D A T A CONTROL] knob until the LED displays: CLR . Begin playing the keyboard. A ll previously recor ded data on tracks 1 and 2 w ill be cleared, and the notes you ar e now pla y ing w ill be recor ded on track 1. T o clear all data on tr acks 1 and 2 without rec ording an y thing new , after st ep 2, press the Song button twice.
17 EDIT FUNCTIONS In Edit M o de, the function of the [D A T A CONTROL] knob is changed to specify a number of different values. The [D A T A CONTR OL] knob will "t ime out" after 10 sec onds and return to default metr onome te m p o.

19 Turn Local On/Off to Off • Pr ess the [FUNCTION] key t o enter Edit M ode • Pr ess the Local On/Off key (C#3). The LED display will show: OFF .
20 Enter K e y (C7) W hen entering data in Edit M ode, pressing the Enter key will cause the selected data to be sent to this piano as a MIDI command. Aft er pressing the Ent er key , the Rhapsody will return to P erformance M ode.
21 NO TE: The Piano Reset procedure describ ed under P anel Controls also se nds out “Reset A ll Controllers” and “ All N otes Off ” MIDI messages, b ut on MIDI Channel 1 only .
