F or the best results, please read this manual thr oug h carefully as it is yo ur guide through the control menus and operation.

12 Positioning your projector English Po s i t i o n i n g y o u r p r o j e c t o r Choosi ng a locat i on Y our projector is designed to be installed in one of four possible installation locations. Y our room layout or personal pr eference wil l dictate which installation location you select.
13 Positioning your projector English O b taining a preferred pr ojected image size The distance from the project or lens to the screen, the zoom setting, and the video form at ea ch factors in the projected image siz e. This project or is equipped with a movable lens.

16 Positioning your projector English Shifting the pr ojection lens The lens shift control pr ovides flexibilit y for installi ng your projector . It allows the pr ojector to b e positioned off the c enter of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a p e rcentage of the projected image height or w i dth.
17 Connecting with video equipment English Co nnecting w ith v i deo equipment Y ou can connect the projec tor to any typ e of video equipm ent, such as a V CR, DVD player , digital tuner , cable or satellite decoder , video game c onsole or digital camera.
18 Connecting with video equipment English Connecting co mponent-v i deo dev i ces Be sure to match the corresponding colors between the cables and the terminals . The RCA type component video ja ck s are pro v ide d for connection to video output de vic es.
19 Connecting with video equipment English Connecting a c ompute r Connect the p rojecto r to a compu ter with a V GA cable. Many laptops do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a pro j ector . Usually a key combination like Fn + F3 o r CRT/LCD key turns the extern a l display on/off.
20 Using the projector English U sing the pr ojec t o r Pr eparations 1. Plug in and turn all of the connected equipment on. 2. If not already in, plug the supplied po wer cable into the A C inlet on the rear o f the projector . 3. Plug the pow er cable into a wall po wer outlet and turn the wall switch on.
21 Using the projector English Selecting an input sourc e The projec tor can be c onnected to mu l tiple equ i pment at t h e same time. When the projector is first turn ed on, i t w ill at tempt to recon n ec t with the input source which was in us e when the p r ojector was last shut down.
22 Using the projector English Us i n g t h e m e n u s The projector is equipped with multilingual On -Screen Display (OSD) menus for making var i ous adjustments and s e ttings. Below is the ov erv i ew of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OSD m e nu to y our familiar language.
23 Using the projector English U tilizing the password function For security pu r poses and t o help prevent unauthorized use, the projector includes an opt i on for setting up password security . The password can be set through the On-Scr een Display (OSD) menu.
24 Using the projector English Entering the password r ecall procedure 1. Mak e sure the Input P ass w ord page is display ed on screen. P ress and hold PR ESET MODE on the pr ojecto r or MODE on the remote control for 3 sec onds. The projector will display a coded number on the screen.
25 Using the projector English A djusting the p roject ed image A djusting the projection angle There are four adjuster feet on the bottom of the projector . These can be us e d i f ne ce s s ar y to cha nge the p roj e c t i on angle. Screw the feet in or out as appropriate to aim and le v el the projection angle.

27 Using the projector English U s ing the preset and user modes Selecting a preset mode The projector is preset w i th several pre-define d picture modes so that y ou can choose one to suit your operating en vironment and input sourc e picture type.
28 Using the projector English Setting the U ser 1/U ser 2 mode There are two user -definable modes if the current avai lable picture modes are not suitable for y our need. Y ou can use one of the pict ur e modes (ex cept the selec t ed U ser mode) as a starting p o int and customize the settings.
2 9 U si ng t h e pr oj e c t or English Fine-tuning the picture quality No matter what picture mode you have selected, you are able to fine-tune those s e ttings to fit e v ery presentation purp ose . Those a d justments w i ll be saved to the preset mode y ou are at when you exit the OSD menu.
30 Using the projector English A dvanc ed picture quality contr ols There are more advanc ed funct i ons in the Picture -- A dvanced menu t o be a d justed to your preference. T o sav e the settings, j ust press MENU on th e project or or MENU/EXIT on the remote control to leave the OSD menu.

H igh light Color T emper a ture and s e lect Us er 1 , Us er 2 , or Use r 3 by pressing / on the projector or r emote control. 2. 32 Using the projector English Color Management In most installation situations, color management wil l not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lig h ts remain on, or where building external w i ndows allow daylight into the room.
33 Using the projector English Setting 3D Comb Filter This feature separates composite sign al to Y (brightness) sig n al and C (color) signal, and can help produce clear er and shar per images with cor r ec t colors i n p la c e.
34 Using the projector English 3. Letter Box ( LB ): Scales a pictur e to fit the projector’ s native resol ution in its hori zontal w idth and r esize the picture ’ s height to the 3/4 of the projection w i dth.
35 Using the projector English Hiding the image In order to draw the audience's full attention to the presenter , y ou can use BLANK on the remote control to hide the scr een image. When this function is activated with an audio input connected, the audio can still be heard.
36 Using the projector English A djusting the sound The sound adjustments made as below will hav e an effe ct on the projector speaker(s). Be sure you ha ve made a correct connection to the p r ojector audio input. See "Connecting with v ideo equipment" on page 17 for ho w the audio input is connect ed.

40 Using the projector English Oper ating in a high altitude en vironment W e rec ommend that you activate Hig h Al t itude Mode when your en vi r onment is higher than 1500 meters (around 4920 feet) abov e sea level, or whenev er the projector will be used for extended perio d s of time (>10 hours) without shutdown.

An old lamp ma y cause a malfunction in the projector and in some instances the lamp may explode.
