34 Freedom HF Owner’s Guide Common Problems Buzz in Audio Equipment Some inexpensive stereo system s may emit a buzzing noise from their loudspeakers when operate d from the Freedom HF . This occurs because the power supply in the audio system does not adequately filter the modified sine wave produced by the invert er .
975-0390-01 -01 35 W arning Messages W arning messages in the form of audible alarms and error codes that appear on the display p anel sc reen to alert you to an impending system change. W arnings do not affect operation. W ith the exception of the error co des displayed on the screen, only the audible alarm can be turned ON or OFF .
36 Freedom HF Owner’s Guide W arning Messages Low battery voltage detected depending on setting, see “Operating Limits” on page 22. Inverting • Check battery status and recharge if necessary . • Check for proper DC cable sizing. • Check for loose connections and tighten if necessary .
975-0390-01 -01 37 W arning Messages For error code : • the display screen and the alar m will turn of f after 30 seconds a • after a five-minute shutdown delay b , the un it will immedi.
38 Freedom HF Owner’s Guide T r oubleshooting Reference ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND ENERGY HAZARD Do not disassemble the Freedom HF . It does not contain any user - serviceable parts. Attemp ting to service the unit yourself could result in an electrical shock or burn.
975-0390-01 -01 39 T roubleshooting Reference Low output voltage (96 volts AC–104 volts AC) during Inverter mode. Y ou are using a voltmeter that cannot accurately read the RMS voltage of a modified sine wave. Use a true RMS reading voltme ter such as the Fluke 87.
40 Freedom HF Owner’s Guide T rou bleshooting Ref erence No output voltage. The S t atus LED is green or yellow . GFCI has tripped or 15A supplementary breaker has tripped.
975-0390-01 -01 41 T roubleshooting Reference No output voltage. The status LED is not lighting up. The jumper wire on the power module panel connecting the “Ignition Control” and “Disabled” term inals is removed and there is no ignition signal present.
42 Freedom HF Owner’s Guide Inverter Applications The Freedom HF performs differently depending on the AC loads connected to it. If you are having problems with any of your loads, read this section. Resistive Loads These are the loads that the invert er finds the simplest and most efficient to drive.
