GSA O per ati ons Docu ment Nu mber: 40 1-364 7 Prefac e The GSA Unit is an integrated com puter system in a rugg edized transportable carrying case. It contains a com prehensive power s torage and managem ent system, a laptop com puter (with its own power management capabilities), a printer, and a page scanner.
GSA O per ati ons Docu ment Nu mber: 40 1-364 8 Component Overv iew The GSA Uni t consis ts of two cas es: • The “A” case ( Figure 1 ) m ay contain the laptop com puter, the printer, th e scanner, the camera, th e power inv erter, a STU-III and intern ally mounted batteries and pow er management systems.
GSA O per ati ons Docu ment Nu mber: 40 1-364 9 Case Pow er Sources The GSA Unit can operate from a variety of power sources: ex ternal A/C power, external D/C power, and f rom internal batteries. When connecting to or disconn ecting from an external power source, you may hear a click from inside the case.
GSA O per ati ons Docu ment Nu mber: 40 1-364 10 Exter nal A/ C Po wer The Alternating Curren t (A/C) connection to the GSA Unit accepts input voltages from 90 to 250 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, as stat ed on th e External A/C Power p anel .
GSA O per ati ons Docu ment Nu mber: 40 1-364 11 Exter nal D/ C Po wer The Direct Current (D/C) Pow er Supply conn ector is the small, transl ucent plastic, arrow shaped con nector on the back panel below the A /C power inpu t (as shown i n Figure 4).
GSA O per ati ons Docu ment Nu mber: 40 1-364 12 Interna l Ba ttery Syste m Using internal batteries, no external power connections are required. When the GSA Unit is connected to an extern al power source, the intern al batteries will automatically charge with power on or off.
