3 UNLOCK To unlock your XO Tablet in Android mode, touch and hold the Lock icon. When it turns into a circle drag it towards th e right, to th e Unlock icon. Note: To unlock and activate th e tablet’s camera, touch and hold the Lock icon and when it turns into a circle drag it towards the left, to the Camer a icon.
4 W elcom e t o Y our X O T able t Welcome to your XO Tablet! You will n ow be p rompted to continue the XO Setup. This includes selecting your password an d setting up your child’s profile. Touch OK to continu e this process. CHOOSE A PARENT PASSWORD Enter your password (must b e 6 characters) and touch Next from the onscreen keyboard.
5 ENTER YOUR CHILD’S NAME Enter your c hild’s First nam e and then touch Next from the onscre en keyboard . Enter your c hild’s Last name and then touch Done from the onscreen keyboard.
6 TAKE YOUR CHILD'S PHOTO To personalize your c hild’s XO experience, take a photo by touching the Take Photo camera icon . Touch the Take Photo camera icon to first preview the photo, and th en touch the icon again to capture the ph oto. Touch the Switch Camera icon to switc h between the Front and the Rear Camera.
7 Welcome to your XO Tablet! WIFI CONNECTION You can c onnect your tablet to W iFi during or after the initial set up. By default WiFi is t urned OFF. To see availab le networks follow these steps to turn WiFi ON: 1. Touch the statu s bar on the bottom right (where the battery icon is displayed) .
8 4. The Settings list ap pears. On the top is the ‘Wireless & Network s’ option with the WiFi is d isplayed as OFF. Touc h the OFF butt on to switch WiFi ON . 5. Once Wifi is selected as ON, the available networks are li sted on th e right. Touch one of the networks listed to c onnect.
9 Home Scr een Once you have completed th e Initial Setup the Home Scree n appears. The orientation of the display scree n rotates with th e tablet as you turn it.
10 Dr eams Children dream about their future and what they would like to be when they grow up. The Dream s Categories are based on th ese dreams. The categories include: XO DOCTOR , XO WRITER , XO MAT.
11 HERO : Under eac h dream you will find a Hero - the person that best represents that category . Touch the Hero’s photo to read his/her bio. A hero can be changed by opening a Dream, and touching the Dream's current Hero name.
12 Menu Opti ons Touch the Menu Bar on the top left of the Dreams Home screen to view the following men u options: CURRENT USER PRO FILE; ACCESS TO YOUR BOOKS, MUSIC, VIDEOS AND INTERNET; LANGUA GE SELECTION ; PARE NTAL CONTROLS Note: To exit the Menu Bar, touc h Close .
13 PARENTAL CONTROLS: The XO Tab let allows you to set up password p rotected u ser privileges for multiple u sers and to limit acc ess to the Internet, app store purch ases and talk and chat features. As your ch ild matures, these p rivileges can be c hanged.
14 CHILD PROFILE (S ) – PROTECTION C ONTROL: From the Paren ts menu, touch one of the child p rofiles that you have created in order to control th e child’s ac cess to Tablet ap ps, Internet, Google Play™ and Google Talk. The child’s profile can also be ed ited or removed.
15 Upon ente ring the Android Tab let Mode for the first time the following screens appear to gu ide you through viewing your available apps and creating shortcuts for the apps you want to quickly access from your Home screen.
16 CURRENT USER PROFILE: At the top of the Menu Bar the cu rrent User’s Name an d XO Ic on are displayed. CURRENT USER’S NAME : Touch th e User’s Name to edit the child’s name, password , photo, or XO icon color combination. CURRENT USER’S XO ICON: Touch the User’s XO Icon to change the user interface c olors.
17 Cus tom iz ed Dr eam: Us er ’ s Pr ofile The curren t User appears as the first Dream ic on within the Dream s Home screen. Touch th is customized icon to vie w the following option s: JOURNAL , MY FILES, BOOKS, DIGITAL PASSPORT CE Note: Touch the X icon, located on the top right, to exit the Cust omized Dream User Profile.
18 JOURNAL: To improve child learning is to help you to more ac tively particip ate and guide your child’s tab let usage. The XO Tablet comes with three dashb oards to help you better u nderstand you children ’s intellectual development.
19 MY FILES: Touch My Files to di splay a directory of al l files stored on your Tablet. This includes music , vide os , photos as well as vari ous types of documen t files. BOOKS: Touch Books to view your entire library. Touch a book cover or b ook title to select and open the book.
20 DIGITAL PASSPORT CE: Digital Passport is an application which teaches proper online Internet safety and similar topic s. Touch the Digital Pass port icon to launc h the app.
21 To unlock th e XO Tablet when there are multiple users, th e Unlock Screen appears with th e icon and name of each User. Touch an d drag the Locked XO Icon in the midd le of the scree n towards the User’s XO Icon you wish to u se. Enter th e User’s password ( if needed) to u nlock and en ter the Dreams Home screen .
