2 What is the Multi Par t Editor? Multi P ar t Editor is a con venient w a y to edit and sa ve the Multi par ameters of your MO TIF-RACK. Thanks to its the easy-to-understand graphical interf ace, you.
3 About Studio Manager Studio Manager is a cross-platf orm application that enables you to start multiple Editors for controlling Y AMAHA hardware products remotely , and to sav e multiple Editor settings. F or more inf ormation, refer to the separate Installation Guide or the Studio Manager PDF man ual.
4 Multi Par t Editor Files Ev er y Multi in the MO TIF-RA CK can be made up of v oices selected from the collection of User V oices stored in the MO TIF-RACK. When a v oice is modified, each Multi that utilizes that v oice will be modified as well and as a result, y our Multis ma y not sound the wa y the y did when y ou first made them.
5 About Open Plug-in T echnology Open Plug-in T echnology (OPT) is a new software f or mat that enables y ou to control MIDI de vices from a music D A W application software .
6 Star ting the Multi Par t Editor After installing the Multi P ar t Editor and making the required connections, f ollow the instructions below to start the Multi Part Editor .

8 Notice when star ting the Studio Man- ager as a stand-alone application When star ting the Studio Manager as a stand-alone application, you’ll also need to ha v e the sequencer running simultaneously so that you can chec k the P art or V oice sounds edited in the Multi P ar t Editor or V oice Editor by using an e xternal ke yboard.

17 Menu Bar The Menu Bar contains v arious editing and setup functions/commands. Click the desired menu name to open the appropriate pull-down menu, and choose the function/command y ou wish to apply . Those functions/commands which are unav ailab le are gra yed out.

21 Par t Mixer Window When you start Multi Part Editor , you will first see the P ar t Mixer Window , which consists of the common section and the par t section. 32 “T ransmit Dialog” V oice data can be transmitted in b ulk to your synthesiz er . Select the bulk v oice data y ou wish to receive , then click [Start]. The progress bar shows how m uch of the data has been transmitted. Finally , click the [Close] button to quit the dialog.

34 Remote Operation The Multi P ar t Editor can be operated remotely b y a hardware controller , such as the Y amaha Digital Mixing Studio 01X. Below is an e xample of remote operation using the 01X, when the Multi Pa rt Editor is r unning as a plug-in under SQ01.
35 Operating the Multi Par t Editor r emotely fr om the 01X The MO TIF ES can also be used as a controller f or Multi P ar t Editor functions. For details on operations of the MO TIF ES, ref er to the MO TIF ES Owner’ s Manual. n Each channel on the 01X controls are corresponding to each par t in the Multi Part Editor.

37 Tr oubleshooting If you encounter prob lems such as no sound output or abnormal behavior , verify the connections bef ore checking the f ollowing. Sound does not change when using the knobs or sliders. • Are the MIDI Out por t and De vice Number set correctly in the “Setup dialog”? ( page 31 ) Bulk data is not transmitted.
