English 1 En • VOLTAGE SELECTOR (Asia and Gener al models only) The vo ltage selector switc h on the rear pan el of t his unit must be set to your local main volta ge BEFORE plugging this unit into the A C main s upply. Vol tages are 1 10-12 0/22 0-2 40 V A C, 50 /60 Hz.

English 3 En One subwoof er will have a good eff ect on yo ur audio sys tem, how ever , the use of two sub woofer s is recommended to obta in more effect. If using one su bwoofer, it is reco mmended to pl ace it on the outsid e of either the right or the left front speaker .
4 En Power indicato r Lights up in green whil e the su bwoofer is on . Lights up in red while t he subwo ofer is set in the standb y mode by th e operati on of th e auto matic p ower- switching fun ction. Goes off when the subw oofer is set in the standby mode.
CONTROLS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS English 5 En OUTPUT (TO SPEAKERS) terminals Can be used for connecti ng to t he main spea kers. Signals from the INPUT1 terminals are sent to these terminals. (Refer to “CONNECTI ONS” for de tails.) INPUT1 (FROM AMPLIFIER) terminals Used to co nnect the subwo ofer with the speak er terminals of the amplifier.

CONNECTIONS English 7 En ■ Using two subwoofers ■ Connecting to the LFE (INPUT3) terminal(s ) If your amplifier can cut off high frequencies from the signals for send ing to the sub woofer, conn ect the ampli fier to the subwoofer's LFE (INPU T 3) terminal(s).
CONNECTIONS 8 En Select th is method if your am plifier ha s no lin e output (pin jac k) termina l(s). If your amplifier has two sets of front speaker out put terminals and both terminals can output sound signals simultaneously.
CONNECTIONS English 9 En If your amplifier has only one set of front speaker output terminals. Connect t he speaker outp ut terminals o f the amplifi er to the INPUT1 terminal s of the subw oofer, and conn ect the OUTPUT terminals o f the sub woofer to th e front speak ers.
CONNECTIONS 10 En For connect ion, keep the speaker cables as sh ort as possible. Do not b undle or ro ll the e xcess cabli ng. If the connectio ns are fa ulty, no soun d will be heard from the subwoof er or the speakers, or both. Make sure that the + and – po larity markin gs of the speak er cables are ob served and co nnected correctly.

12 En Before usin g the s ubwoofer, adjust the subwoo fer to o btain the optimum volume a nd tone balance between th e subwo ofer and the front spe akers by fol lowing the p rocedur e describ ed bel ow. 1 Set the VOLUME control to minimum (0). 2 Turn on the power of al l the other compo nents.
