2 • VOLTAGE SELECTOR (For China, Kore a and G eneral mode ls) The vo ltage sel ector sw itch on t he rear panel of th is unit mu st be set for your l ocal ma in volta ge BEFOR E plugging this unit into the AC main sup ply. Vol tages are 110/ 120/220 /240 V AC, 50/ 60 Hz.

4 ( : subw oofe r, : ma in spea ker) One subwoofe r will have a good effect on your audi o sys tem, how ever , the use of two sub woofer s is recommended to obtain more effe ct. If using one su bwoofer, it is reco mmended to plac e it on the outsid e of eithe r the rig ht or the le ft main spe aker.
5 Choose one of the following two connecting methods that is more suitable for yo ur audio system. ■ Choose (pages 5 -7) if your amplifie r has line output (pin jack) terminal(s) ■ Choose (pages 8.

8 Select this m ethod if y our amplifi er has no line outpu t (pin j ack) termin al. If your amplifier h as two sets of main s peaker output terminals an d both terminals can o utput sound signals simultaneously.

10 If your amplifier has only one set of main speaker output terminals. Connect t he speaker outp ut terminals of the ampl ifier to the INPUT1 terminals of the sub woofer, and conn ect the OUTPUT terminals o f the subw oofer to th e main speaker s.

12 For connect ion, keep the spea ker cables as short as possib le. Do not bu ndle or r oll up the exce ss part of t he cables. If th e connections are fau lty, no sound will be h eard from the subwoofer or the spea kers, or both of them. Make sure that th e + and – polarity m arkings of the speak er cables are observed and set correctly .

15 If the source be ing playe d is stop ped and t he inpu t signa l is cut off f or 7 to 8 min utes, the subwo ofer automa tically switches to th e standby mod e. (When the subwo ofer switches to the standby mode b y the automa tic power- switching func tion, the power indic ator lights up in red.
16 Before using the subwo ofer, adjust t he subwo ofer to ob tain th e optimum volume an d tone balance between th e subwoo fer and the main speak ers by follo wing the procedur es described below. <YST-S W315> <YST-S W215> 1 Set the VOLUME control to minimu m (0).
