4 10. Start the engine according to the instructions found in this manual and keep feet well away from the tines at all times. 11. After striking a foreign object, stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire and ground against the engine. Thoroughly ins pect the machine for any damage.
5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR TILLER IMPORT ANT: This unit is shi pped w ithout ga soli ne or oil in th e engine. Be cer tain to service engin e with ga soli ne and o il as in stru cted in the separate engi ne manua l before ope rating you r mower.

F orw ard T ine Engagement Handle The forwa rd tine engagem ent handle is located beneath t he tiller hand le. Squeez ing the handl e up against the tiller handl e engages the ti nes.

10 SECTION 5: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: Disconnect the spark plu g wire and ground it against the engine be fore performing any a djustments. Engine Ad justment Refer to the se parate engi ne manual for engine adjustme nt instruc tions. Wheel Adjustment To adjust the whe el yoke and wheel posit ion, refer to the O perati ng Sectio n.
11 Pivot Points Lubrica te all pivot poi nts and link ages at lea st once a season wi th light oil. Tine Sha fts Remove ti ne ass emblies and lubr icate t he tine s hafts at least onc e a season. Wheel Shafts Remove whee l assembl ies and lub ricate the axle shafts at least onc e a season.
12 • Clean t he exter ior of engine and the entire tiller thorough ly. Lubr icate the till er as descr ibed in the lubric ation inst ructio ns. • We do not re commend the use of pres sure washers to cl ean your un it. They ma y cause damage to electric c omponents , spindles , pulleys, bearing s or the engin e.
