4 OPERA TION Before using Remov e all secur ing tapes . Wash inside the appliance with luke war m w ater and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).
5 Normal Operating Sounds • Y ou ma y hear faint gurgling or bubb ling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing at the rear , to the cooling plate/ev aporator or to the fixed freezer shelv es.
6 P ositioning the inner shelves The walls of the refrigerator are equipped with runners so that shelves can be positioned as desired. D338 P ositioning the door shelves T o permit storage of food packages of v arious sizes, the door shelves can be adjusted in height.
7 • K eep the time between buying chilled food and placing it in your fridge as shor t as possible. T ests showed that the temperature of 1 litre of or ange juice rose to 22°C in an hour between the supermar ket and home. It then took 11 hours to get down to 7°C in the refrigerator .
8 Defrosting Refrigerator The refrigerator automatically defrosts ev er y time the compressor stops. The water is discharged, via the pipe, into a tra y located at the back of the appliance above the compressor , where it evapor ates.
9 Freezer When the frost has reached a thickness of up to 4mm it can be remov ed using the ice scraper provided with the appliance. During this operation it is not necessary to disconnect the appliance from the mains and remov e the food. Never use metal tools for this oper ation.

During a nor mal night time period of approximately 8 hours a traditional fridge freezer can normally maintain the frozen f ood temperature but if the appliance is left for longer period in a low ambient temper ature the freezer will defrost . If, after the abo ve checks, there is still a f ault, call your local Service Force Centre.
