C onnecting the Phone Filters Phone filters separate the DSL signal from the v oic e signal on the phone line to allow the user t o talk on the phone and be online at the same time.

15 U sing Qw est DSL Qwest DSL operates ov er home or business phone lines equipped with Qwest DSL ser vice. For this r eason, the Qwest DSL co nnection is not portable; it can ’t be acc essed while a way from home or business. T o connect while trav eling, ask the ISP about a dial-up acc ount.

17 Basic Setup This section is a guide through a basic configuration of the Gatewa y , including how t o co nnect the Gatewa y to the ISP . Basic Setup To co nfigure the gatewa y for basic operation: 1. Open the W eb bro wser . In the address bar , enter http://192.

19 Chapter 5 Basic Setup The pow er LED flashes rapidly while the Gatewa y restarts, then g lows st eadily gr een when fully operational. The Gateway is no w configur ed and users can start surfing the W eb . If an error stating the W eb browser was unable t o c onnect to the I nternet appears, ch eck the configuration settings.
