1 ® Quick Setup Guide 54 Mbps Wir eless Desktop PCI A d a pter-g WLI-PCI-G54 Use this guide to quic kly and easily install your 54Mbps W i r eless Desktop PCI Adapter-g. For detailed setup and conf ig- ur ation information, ref er to the User Manual on the Utility CD or the Buff a l o Suppor t W eb page .
Step Installing the 54Mbps Wireless Desktop PCI A d a pter- g . With the computer pow er ed down and the co ver r emo ved to expose the inside of the system, inser t the 54Mbps Desktop PCI Adapter into an a vailable PCI slot. The card should fit firml y into the slot and should be scr ew ed into the chassis.
Select Install the Softwar e Automaticall y . Click the Ne x t button to continue. Select the driv er you want to install. If multiple driv ers ar e listed, select the most r ecent driver v ersion.
4 Step Configuring W ir eless Z e r o Configuration Ser vice Right click the netw orking icon in the taskbar and select Vie w A vailab le Wir eless Netw orks to displa y a list of a vailable wir eless netw orks. Select an access point netw ork name or SSID and click the Connect button to establish a connection.
5 Y ou ha ve finished installing y our 54Mbps Desktop PCI Adapter . See Installing Client Manager to install Client Mana ge r on y our desktop , Client Mana ge r will not function pr operly if Wi r eless Zer o Configuration Ser vice is activated.
6 Step Installing the 5 4Mbps Wireless Desktop PCI A d a pter - g With the computer pow er ed down and the co ver r emo ved to expose the inside of the system, car e should be tak en to not unplug an y cables or unseat any other cards installed in the computer .
7 Once the chassis has been r eplaced and the antenna is installed, the com- puter can be pow er ed on. Upon loading Windows and logging on if necessar y , the Found Ne w Har dwar e Wizar d will launch automatically . Click the Ne x t button to continue.
8 Windows will displa y a driver y ou can use with the 54Mbps Wir eless Desktop PCI Adapter . Click the N e xt button to continue . Windows 2000: If the Digital Signatur e N o t F ound page op.
9 Installing Client Mana g e r Inser t the Ai rNavigator CD . The AirNa vigator dialog box will open automatically . Select Install Client Mana ger to launch the InstallShield Wizar d . Click the OK button. If the AirNa vigator dialog box does not open automatically , select Star t » Run and enter D:Setup .
10 Confirm that the installation location for the softwar e is acceptable .T o select an alternate installation location, click the Br owse button and select another loca- tion.
11 Click the Finish button to complete the installation of Client Mana ge r . Restar t your computer . Note: The 54Mbps Desktop PCI A d a pter and Client Mana g er will not function pr op- erly until y ou r eboot the system. Depending on the operating system, some scr eens ma y var y .
