Product Description The ButtKicker ® LFE is a patented 4 ohm low frequency audio transducer that features a 3 1/4 l b. ( 1 . 4 8 k g ) m a g n e ti c a l l y susp ended pis ton. The Butt Kicker is musi cally acc urate, has powerful low frequency response, and is virtually indestructible a n d m a i n t e n a n c e f r e e .
Quick Setup This section is for those who are more experienced with sound system installation. The ButtKicker ® is a passive, 4 ohm speaker lo ad , w hi ch r eq u ir es p ow er fr om an a ud io po we r a mp li e r , which in turn requires an adequate signal feed from your sound system (Figure 1).
Integration into Your Sound System Power The ButtKicker ® is a passive load and therefore requires it s ow n de di ca te d au di o po we r am pl i er . S ugg es te d minimum required power is 400 watts. The use of 14 ga uge s pe ake r ca ble b et we en th e am pl ie r an d th e ButtKicker is recommended.
Source Hookup to Amplier Surround Sound System One signal source for the ButtKicker ® is the “Subwoofer” output of your surround receiver/processor . This output is controlled by the master volume control and usually a separate subwoofer control.
