T o help you make the best use of your cooker , PLEASE READ THIS BOOKLET CAREFULL Y . Y our new cooker is guaranteed and will give lasting service. The guarantee is only applicable if the cooker has been installed in accordance with the Installation Instructions.
Please read the precautions below befor e using your cook er . AL W A YS make sure you understand the controls bef ore using the co oker . AL W A YS check that all controls on the c ooker are turned off after use. AL W A YS stand back when opening oven door t o allow heat to disper se.
NEVER leave childr en unsuper vised where the cooker is installed as all sur faces will get hot during and after use. NEVER allow any one to sit or stand on any part of the cooker . NEVER store items that childr en may attempt t o reach abov e the c ooker .

7 KNOW Y OUR TIMER CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is alw ay s set, before using your cooker. SYMBOLS A ‘bell’ symbol will light up when you select a M inute Minder Period and will remain lit for the period set.
8 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven controls ar e turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When switched on the display will show 0.00 and the A uto symbol , flashing intermittently .
9 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION Step 3 Press and hold in the C ook Period button. The display will read 0.00 with the ‘ cook pot’ symbol lit. Step 4 With the Cook P er iod button still held in, set the required Cook Per io d using the “+” and “–” buttons.
10 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION Step 4 Press & hold in the C ook Period button, the display will read 0.00 and the ‘ cookpot ’ symbol will light up. With the Cook P eriod button still held in set the required Cook P eriod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
11 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION O THER NO TES ON TIMER OPER A TION 1. When cooking Automatically the Cook P eriod can be checked at an y time simply by pressing the Cook Period button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime by simply pressing the End Time button.
12 HO TPL A TE The hotplate has two high speed burners and two simmering burners which will accommodate pans between 100mm (4”) and 230mm (9”) diamet er . All pans should be positioned centrally ov er the burners. Simmering aids such as steel plates should not be used because they can cause damage to the pan supports.
13 HO TPL A TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FRYING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one third full with oil or fa t . 2. Never leav e oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng period. 3. Never heat fat or fry with a lid on the pan. 4.
PLA TE R A CK A plate rack can be obtained as an optional extra from your local Cannon Spares C entre. (See Back Cov er) F itting instructions are supplied with the plate rack. 14 GRILL The high level grill is fitted with a grill pan carrier that pro vides two grilling levels.
The ov en has different hea t zones – the thermostat settings refer t o the temperature on the middle shelf position; above this shelf it is hotter and below it is cooler . Tw o shelves pro vide five possible cooking levels enabling full use of the differ ent temperatures inside the o ven.
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything requiring long slow c o oking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold ov en. S atisfactory results can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but for perfection we recommend preheating the ov en for about 15 minutes at the gas mark y ou require for c o oking.
The ‘Slow Cook’ setting on the main oven thermostat is used f or slow cook ing , k eeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods. USING THE ‘SLO W COOK’ SETTING FOR SL OW COOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow Cook’ setting should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours.
The following times and setting ar e for guidance only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to giv e a result more to your satisfaction. When a different setting to that show n belo w is given in a recipe , the recipe instructions should be followed .
When baking with two trays or tins on two levels , the top tray i s remo ved first and the lower tr ay moved up to the t op position for a few minut es longer . Soft Margarine – Use the oven settings recommended by the mar gar ine manufacturer and not those indicated on the cooking chart.
20 CARE AND CLEANING Switch off the electricity supply before cleaning the cook er . Clean the cooker r egularly and wipe up spills af ter they occur to pre vent them from becoming burnt on.

SOMETHING WRONG WITH Y OUR C OOKER PROBLEM CHECK Oven does not work, but the grill and hotplate burners do work . Ensure that the timer is set to the correct time of day . Ensure that the timer is set to manual mode by pr essing the ‘Manual’ button until the ‘ Auto ’ symbol is off.
Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions (na ture of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions ar e compatible. The adjustment conditions for this appliance ar e stated on the data badge which is fitted on the back panel.

26 SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplat e level. This requires a minimum distance of 540mm between cupboard units of hotplat e height.
UNP ACKING THE C OOKER Unpack the components. Check that the f ollowing par ts are presen t. Grill pan, grid & Grill pan carr ier P an supports (4) Baking dish Main oven shelves (2) Enamelled burn.
28 FIT GRILL P AN CARRIER 1. Carefully locate the grill pan carrier under the grill canopy at the fron t. DO NO T ENGAGE IT IN THE SLO T . 2. Support the car rier , swing it upwards at the rear and locate i t in the holes in the splashback. 3. Locate the fr ont pegs of the carrier into the slots at the fr ont of the grill.
29 C ONNECTING T O GAS SUPPL Y Connection to the appliance should be made with an appro ved app liance flexible connection to BS 669. A length of 0.9 to 1.25m is recommended . The length of hose chosen should be such that when the cooker is in situ, the hose does not touch the floor .
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a properly ear thed, readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directly above , and not more than 1.25m away from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot t ouch hot parts of the cook er i.
31 INST ALLA TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check for gas soundness. The supply pressure can be checked at the grill injector . Access to the injector is by first removing the grill rear panel (4 scr ews) and the left hand side panel (2 screws).
