6 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION The ov en timer offers you the follo wing featur es: 1. Time of Day 2. Automa tic Cooking 3. Minute M inder A UT OMA TIC C OOKING The main ov en can be controlled automatically . GUIDANCE ON A UT OMA TIC C OOKING 1. Select foods which will take the same time to cook.
7 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporat es a 24 hour clock. Ensure the corr ect time of day is alwa ys set , before using y our coo ker . SYMBOLS A ‘bell’ symbol will light up when you select a Minute Minder Period and will remain lit for the period set.
8 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION SET TING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven contr ols are turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When switched on the display will sho w 0.00 and the Auto symbol , flashing intermittently .
9 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION Step 3 Press and hold in the C ook Period button. The display will r ead 0.00 with the ‘ cook pot ’ symbol lit. Step 4 With the Cook P eriod button still held in, set the required Coo k P eriod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
10 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION Step 4 Press & hold in the C ook Period button, the display will read 0.00 and the ‘ cook pot ’ symbol will light up . With the Cook P eriod button still held in set the required Cook P eriod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
11 O VEN TIMER OPER A TION O THER NOTES ON TIMER OPERA TION 1. When cooking Automatically the C ook P eriod can be checked at an y time simply by pressing the C ook P eriod button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime b y simply pressing the End Time button.
The hotplate lid is fitt ed with a safety device which cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is fully open. Do not use the s afety device as a means of controlling the hotpla te burners.
13 HO TPLA TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FR YING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one third full with oil or fat . 2. Never leav e oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng period . 3. Never heat fat or fr y with a lid on the pan.
CA UTION – AC CESSIBLE P ARTS MA Y BEC OME HOT WHEN THE GRILL IS IN USE . Y OUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT A W A Y . GRILL P AN HANDLE The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan to facilitat e cleaning . The handle can be either detachable from or fix ed to the pan.
The f ollowing char t is a guide. Grilling can be started from co ld but for best r esults preheat f or appro ximately two minut es. Most cooking is done wit h the heat on full, but it may be desir able to reduce it f or thick er pieces of meat or f or keeping food warm.
The main ov en can be used in t wo diff erent modes. T he choice of mode is selected by the “Duo Mode” butt on on the fascia, pressing in for fan mode.
T O USE THE MAIN OVEN 1. Check that the electricit y supply is switched on and the timer is set to manual mode. 2. Place o ven shelv es in the chosen positions. (ref er to cooking char ts). 3. Selec t the ov en mode with the “Duo Mode” butt on on the fascia, ( in ) for fan mode for ( out ) f or con ventional mode.
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything r equiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold o ven. Satisfactory results can also be obtained with creamed mix ture , rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but f or per fection we recommend prehea ting the oven for about 15 minutes a t the gas mark you require f or cook ing.

The ‘Slow C ook ’ setting on the main ov en ther mostat is used for slo w cooking in con- v entional mode only , keeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t per iods. USING THE ‘SL OW C OOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow C ook ’ setting should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours.
The top o ven can be used to c ook small quantities of food or us ed in c onjunction with the main ov en to pro vide additional cooking space. The shelf in the top o ven has a heat shield fitt ed at the rear . The shield can be remov ed for cleaning and grilling , but must be replaced when using the oven.
The follo wing times and setting are for guidanc e only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to giv e a result more to y our satisfaction. When a different setting t o t hat shown below is giv en in a recipe , the recipe instructions should be followed .

Swit ch off the electricit y supply and allow to c o ol before cleaning the c ooker . Clean the cook er regularly and wipe up spills soon after they occur to pr ev ent them from becoming burn t on.
26 CARE AND CLEANING C OOKER FINISH CLEANING METHOD Vitreous Enamel Hotplate , pan suppor ts, burner caps, roasting dish, grill pan, main oven base , inside of grill compar tment. Cloth wrung out in warm soapy wat er . Stubborn stains can be remov ed with a cream paste, liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel w ool soap pads.

Cannot set an “ Auto Cook” programme or cannot get the timer to turn the ov en on or off at the required times . Read the Timer instructions in this book carefully remembering that the Cook period is the length of time that the timer will switch the ov en(s) on as par t of an Auto Cooking Progr amme.
Prior to installa tion, ensure that the local distribution conditions (natur e of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment c onditions are compatible . The adjustment conditions for this applianc e are stated on the da ta badge which is fitted on the back panel.

31 SP A CE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotpla te level. T his requires a minimum distance of 600mm between cupboard units of hotpla te height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or wall, for a minimum distance of 400mm abov e hotplate lev el, allow a side clearance of a t least 65mm.

33 ST ABILIT Y BRACKET The back of the cooker has a slot for engagemen t of a stability bracket, which can be obtained , as an extra, from your c ooker supplier .
34 C ONNECTING TO GAS SUPPL Y The cooker is designed to mat ch the depth of standard 600mm wor ktops . An adaptor backplate should, ther efor e, be fitt ed within the shaded area shown t o allow the cooker to be pushed fully to the wall. Connection to the cooker should be made with an approv ed appliance flexible connection to BS 669.
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a proper ly ear thed , readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directly abov e, and not mor e than 1.25m awa y from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such tha t it cannot touch hot par ts of the cooker i.
36 INST ALL A TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check for gas soundness . The supply pressur e can be checked at the grill injector . Access t o the injector is by first removing the baffle a t the front of the grill fastened by two scr ews.
