6 HO TPLA TE The hotplate lid is fitt ed with a safety device which cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is fully open. Do not use the s afety device as a means of controlling the hotpla te burners.
HO TPLA TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FRYING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one thir d full with oil or fat . 2. Never lea ve oil or fat unatt ended during the heating or cooli ng period. 3. Never heat fat or fry with a lid on the pan. 4. Alway s dr y f ood thoroughly befor e fr ying , and low er it slowly into the hot oil or fat.
CA UTION – A C CESSIBLE P ARTS MA Y BEC OME HO T WHEN THE GRILL IS USE D. Y OUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT A W A Y . T O USE THE GRILL 1. Open the grill door and remov e the grill pan. 2. Push in and turn the con trol knob anti-clock wise to the lar ge flame symbol.
The ov en has differen t heat zones – the thermostat settings ref er to the temperatur e on the middle shelf position; abov e this shelf it is hotter and below it is cooler . T wo shelves pro vide five possible cooking levels enabling full use of the diff erent temperatur es inside the oven.
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything r equiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cak es can be put into a cold o ven. Satisfactor y r esults can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but f or per fection we rec ommend preheating the ov en for about 15 minutes .
The ‘Slow C ook ’ setting on the o ven thermostat is used for slo w cooking, keeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods. USING THE ‘SL OW C OOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow C ook ’ setting should be c ooked for a minimum 6 hours.
The follo wing times and setting are for guidance only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to give a result more to y our satisfaction. When a different setting to tha t shown below is given in a r ecipe, the recipe instructions should be followed . Allow 15 minut es preheat for best results .

Clean the cook er regularly and wipe up spills soon after they occur to pre ven t them from becoming burn t on. Nev er use biological washing powder , caustic cleaners, harsh abr asives , scouring pads , aerosol cleaners or o ven chemical cleaners of any kind .
CARE AND CLEANING C OOKER FINISH CLEANING METHOD Vitreous Enamel Hotplate , pan suppor ts , burner caps, roasting dish, grill pan, oven base , inside of grill compar tment , inside of doors. Cloth wrung out in warm soapy wat er . Stubborn stains can be remov ed with a cream paste , liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel w ool soap pads.

Prior to installa tion, ensure that the local distribution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment c onditions are compatible . The adjustment condi- tions for this appliance ar e stated on the data badge which is fitted t o the back panel.

SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotpla te level. This r equires a minimum distance of 540mm between cupboard units of hotplat e height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or w all, for a minimum distance of 400mm abov e hotplate level, allo w a side clearance of at least 65mm.
UNP ACKING Unpack the components from inside the grill and o ven: Check that the f ollowing par ts are present. Grill pan and grid P an suppor ts (4) Meat tin Enamelled burner caps (4) Oven shelves (2) Literature pack Battery Aluminium burner bodies (4) LEVELLING F our skid feet are fitted which can be screw ed in or out to level the c ooker .
The cooker is designed to mat ch the depth of standard 600mm wor ktops. A n adaptor backplate should, ther efore , be fitted within the shaded area sho wn to allow the cooker to be pushed fully to the wall. If a f or ward facing back plate is used , it must be chased into the wall.
INST ALLA TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check for gas soundness . The supply pressur e can be checked at the grill injector . Access to the injector is by first remo ving the baffle at the front of the grill fastened by two scr ews.
