3 Simple Steps f or Basic Oper ations Protective paper Slide the cov er le v er up to open the car tridge cov er Remov e the cleaner unit Load the Easy Photo P ac k Close the car tridge cov er Load the Easy Photo P ack * The ink and paper integrated cartridges for the SELPHY ES series are called Easy Photo Packs.
4 Connect the printer to a power source and tur n the pow er on T o power outlet Ensure ther e is at least 15 cm (6 in.) of free space fr ont and back, and at least 10 cm (4 in.) either side. Connect the power cord to the printer Inser t the plug into a po wer outlet Press until the pow er lamp lights green to turn on the pow er 15 cm (6 in.
5 Set the displa y language Press and select [Printer Setup] with or , and press Select [Language] with or , and press Press , , or to select the language you wish to set and press The selected language is set and the screen returns to [Printer Setup].
6 Inser t a memor y card into the printer Slide the card slot cov er bac k to open it Inser t only one memory card into the appropr iate card slot Images saved in the memory card are displayed on the LCD monitor .
7 Print Press , , or to select the image you wish to print Press or to specify the n umber of copies Press Printing star ts Easy-Scroll Wheel Y ou can select images or menu items just by turning the Easy-Scroll Wheel instead of pr essing the , , and buttons on the wheel.
8 Follow the instructions indicated below before selecting images. Press The co nfi rmat ion s cr ee n for w het he r o r not t o s av e t he se tt ing i s d is pla ye d. Select [OK] and press Date setting with [On] is saved. Y ou can now select an image you wish to print with the date and print it.
Pr int from Mobile Phones and Computers , as w ell as Digital Cameras , with Y our SELPHY Pr inter Y ou can print an image taken with a camera only if you connect the camera to the printer with a USB cable. Y ou can print without a cable from infrared or Bluetooth-enabled * mobile phones.

17 Cannot Print (continued from previous page) Does the camera battery have sufcient charge? Replace the battery with a fully charged (or new) battery , or use the compact power adapter for the camera.
18 Colors on the Computer Display and the Print Are Different Color generation methods are different for computer displays and printers. Moreover , the variance may be attributable to the environment in which the display is viewed (color and strength of the light), or to the display’ s color adjustment settings.
19 Frequent Paper Jams Has too much paper been left in the print output receptacle? Do not leave 50 or more sheets in the print output receptacle. • Cannot Print the Specied Number of Prints Is the printer ’ s power being turned on and off repeatedly without printing? The printer initialization consumes ink.
20 Error Messages If any error occurs during printing, a message is displayed on the LCD monitor of the printer . If a problem occurs while the printer is connected to the camera, the camera’s LCD monitor may display an error message. No paper/ink Check that the cartridge is correctly installed.
21 No Image. (continued from previous page) Check whether readable image data is recorded on the memory card. • The image le name (folder name) sometimes cannot be recognized if it contains double-byte characters (Japanese, Chinese or Korean). Change double-byte characters to single-byte alphanumeric characters.
22 Cartridge not compatible Use a cartridge that is compatible with this printer . • Communication error! T urn the printer , camera and computer power off, then turn on again. • Check the Print Images When Connected with a Camera section in the Printer User Guide.
23 Unidentied Image Y ou attempted to play back or print an image with corrupted data, an image recorded in a foreign camera or data type, or an image that has been edited on a computer .
24 Out of operating temperature Operation of the printer is out of operating temperature. Use the printer between 5 – 40°C (41 – 104°F). • Could not add some images Y ou cannot add the following types of images. An image with a data size that is too big.
