16 Connecting to a P o w er Sour ce Conn ect the DZ-3600U to a power source with th e supplied power cor d. This e xplanati on assumes that you have alr eady removed th e main unit an d accessories from th e bo x and placed them on a stable surface .
17 1 Setup for Operation with a Computer Connecting to a Computer When connected to a computer , th e main unit can load captured imag es on to the computer or be contr olled from the computer . F or instructions on how to oper ate the equipment without a computer , see Chapter 4, Operating without a Computer .
18 Computer Sy stem Requirements The f ollowing minimum r equirem ents must be m et by your computer for it to successfully run th e softwar e for the DZ-3600U.
19 1 Setup for Operation with a Computer Installing the Softw ar e The bundled so ftware must be in stalled on to the hard d rive of your computer for it to work with th e DZ-3600U.

Place the so ftware CD-ROM into the computer’ s drive . • The setup utility will autom atically start after a few m om en ts . • If the setup utility d oes not automati cally start up after a lon g in terval, double-click th e [M y Computer] icon on the Win dows desktop an d d ouble-cli ck the CD-ROM icon in th e My Computer window .

It can be used to contr ol various fun ctions while you ar e stan din g at a podium or am ong the au di ence . W e will have you try various oper ation s using this rem ote contr ol in the n ext chapter .
24 Aim the Remote Contr ol at the Camera Head The r emote contr ol sensor (th e componen t that receives th e infr ar ed sign als fr om the rem ote control) is located on th e camera head . Y ou must aim th e r emote contr ol at th e camera head f or it to be effective .

27 2 Mastering Basic Oper ations 4. Push the arm lock release lev er , which can be found on the main unit’s left side at the back. • The camer a arm will now float fr eely . 5. Grasp the camer a arm and lift it up until it locks into place with a click.

Press the pow er switch on the main unit to set it to the ( | ) position. • All the in dicators on th e contr ol panel will ligh t f or about 20 seconds after the power is turned on while th e main unit initializes itself.

52 Pr ocedure with a Computer Selecting the Display Resolution Click the ( ) b utton to the right of the ( ) b utton and select either [High Clarity] or [High Speed] fr om the menu. • The display r esolution and display r ate will chang e. • In still m ode , click this button to switch into pr evi ew m ode and select a display resoluti on.
53 3 An Intr oduction to the Features Saving Images Captured im ages can be saved as a file to a computer disk. Im ages can be saved to disk in any o f the followin g three ways . Please n ote that files can only be saved and opened with th e computer an d n ot with the r emote contr ol or DZ-3600U con trol panel.

Important !!! • If an image is captured after the DZ-3600U has been swit ched to gr ayscale or monochrome mode , it will be loaded onto the computer as a monochr ome.
