5 RO UTINE MAINTENANCE AND CARE FOR THE EQUIPMENT O WNER Consider the following information before maintaining or servicing equipment: Air Fi lter( s) — Air filter(s) should be checked a t least every 3 or 4 weeks and c hanged or cleaned when ne cessary .
6 Heat Exc hanger NOTE: T o ensure dependable and efficient heating operation, the heat exchanger should be checked by a qualified mainte- nance person before eac h heating season, and c leaned when necessar y . Checking and/or cle aning the heat exchanger involves removing the gas controls assembly and t he flue collect or box cover .
7 REGULAR DEALER MAINTENANCE In addition to the t ype of routine maintenance you might be willing to perform, your unit should be inspected regularly by a properly trained and qualified Carrier service technic ian.
