E-15 Power Supply Hold down the TONE butt on while turning on the keyboar d to disable Auto Power Off and power on alert. When these functions are turn ed off, the keyboard does not turn off automat ically and no alert is performed no matter how long it is left with no opera tion being performed.
Connections E-16 Connections Before connecting headphones or other external equi pment, b e s u r e t o f i r s t t u r n d o w n t h e v o l u m e s e t t i n g s o f t h e k e y b o a r d and the connected equipment. You can then a djust volume to the desired level after connecti ons are complete.
E-17 Connections J Rhythm Start/Stop Pedal In this case, the pe dal performs the same funct ions as the START/STOP button. Use only the accessories and options specifie d for this keyboard. Use of non-authorized items creates t he danger of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
Basic Operations E-18 Basic Op eration s This section provides infor mation on performing basic keyboard operations. 1. Press the POWER button to turn the keyboard on. 2. Set the MODE switch to NORMAL. 3. Use the VOLUME slider to set the volume t o a relatively low level.

Basic Operations E-20 While the tempo v alue is flashi ng, you can also use the number butt ons or [+] an d [–] to inp ut a three- digit value. Note that you must input le ading zeros, so 90 is input as 090. Pressing both the and T EMPO buttons at the same time automatic ally returns the currently s elected rhy thm to its defaul t tempo.
Auto Accompaniment E-21 Auto Accompaniment This keyboard au tomatically plays ba ss and chord pa rts in accordance with the chords yo u finger. The bass and cho rd parts are played using so unds and tones tha t are automatically selected to select the rhythm you are using.
Auto Accompaniment E-22 The tempo (beats per min ute) can be set to a value in the ran ge of 40 to 255. Th e tempo value you set is used for Song Bank, 3-step lesson, and Auto Accompaniment cho rd play, as well as playback from memory and me tronome operation.
E-23 Auto Accompaniment J CASIO CHORD Accompaniment Keyboard and Melody Keyboard The accompani ment keyboa rd can be used fo r playing chords only.
Auto Accompaniment E-24 See the “Fingered Chord Chart” on page A-4 for details on playing chords with other roots. *1. Inverted fingerings cannot be used. The lowest note is the root. *2. The s ame chord ca n be playe d without p ressing the 5th G.
E-25 Auto Accompaniment When the composi te notes of a chord ar e separated by 6 or more note s, the lowe st sound b ecomes the ba ss ( 2 ). Auto Accompaniment E-26 You can also insert a fill-in pattern while a va riation rhythm pattern is playing. 1. While a variation rhythm pattern is playing, press the VAR/FILL-IN button to insert a fill-in pattern for the variation rhythm you are using.
E-27 Auto Accompaniment You can adjust the volume of the accompaniment parts as a value in the range of 000 (minimum) to 127. 1. Press the ACCOMP VOLUME button. 1 Current accompan iment volume setting 2. Use the number buttons or th e [+]/[–] buttons to change the current volume settin g value.

You can select a song simply to enjo y listening to it, or you can cut out its melody part and play along on t he keyboard using the 3- step lesson.

Song Bank E-30 1. While a tune is playing or pau sed, hold down the REW button to skip i n a reverse direction at high speed. The fast reverse operation skips back one measure at a ti me. The measure and beat numbers on the display change while the fast reverse operation is being performed.
E-31 Song Bank Specifying the tune numb er for the s ame tune that is currently s elected retur ns the melody tone to the default setting for that tune. 1. Press the DEMO button. Song Bank tune pl ay starts from tun e number 00, and continues with each tune in numeric sequence.
