1 INST ALLA TION ADDITIONAL W ARNINGS L.P . GAS CYLINDER REQUIREMENTS Installation must conform with local codes or , in the absence of local codes, with either the National F uel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFP A 54, Natural Gas and Propane Installation C ode, CSA B149.
2 GAS HOOK -UP’S AND W ARNINGS (LP) LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS • LP gas is nontoxic, odorless and colorless when produced . For Y our Safety , LP gas has been given an odor (similar to rotten cabbage) so that it can be smelled. • LP gas is highly ammable and may ignite unexpectedly when mixed with air .

4 LP C ylinder Leak T est For Y our S afety A TTENTION: Leak T est must be repeated each time the LP cylinder is exchanged or relled. • Do not smoke during leak test.
5 1. T urn all grill con trol knobs to OFF . 2. Ensure that the regulat or is tightly connected to LP cylinder. 3. Completely open LP cylinder valve by turning hand wheel counterclockwise. If you hear a rushing sound , turn gas o immediately . There is a leak at the connection.
6 NEW Natural Gas Barbecue If you are experiencing poor natural gas barbecue per formance, including but not limited to low ame, low heat or poor heat distribution, please review the following inf ormation: • Always consult the Rating Label on the back of the bar becue to conrm that it has already been congured to burn natural gas .
7 Match-Lighting Main Burners 1. Open lid. T urn o all control knobs. Ensure LP cylinder is closed. 2. T urn on th e ga s su p pl y va lv e at th e ta n k (1 to 2 turn s ) or tur n on the ma in gas supply valve.
8 Lighting the SEAR Z ONE Infrared Burner (if applicable) 1. Open Sear Zone Side burner lid. Ensure all control k nobs in the OFF position before opening the gas supply . 2. T urn on th e ga s su p pl y va lv e at th e ta n k (1 to 2 turn s ) or tur n on the ma in gas supply valve.
9 Grilling T ips • Create an impr oved, non-stick cooking sur face by coating all cooking grates with vegetable shortening or cook ing oil before pr eheating.
