4 Safety instructions The safety of AEG electrical appliances conforms to accepted rules of technology and the Appliance Safety Act. W e as manufacturer s, however , see our selves as being obliged to familiarise you with the following safety instructions.
5 ● The water in your dishwasher should not be used for drinking. Deter gent r esidues may still be present in your machine. Make sur e you do not splash these caustic r esidues onto your skin or suffocate yourself! K eep childr en well away from your dishwasher when its door is open.
Marking of plastic parts for gr aded recycling: all plastic parts in your machine ar e marked with internationally standardised abbr eviations (e.g. <PS> for polystyr ene). When your machine is disposed of, this enables plastic waste to be sorted into individual types for envir onmentally conscious r ecycling.
7 Economical and ecological dishwashing ● Only connect the dishwasher to the hot water supply if your hot water is not electrically heated. ● Ensur e that the water softener is correctly adjusted. ● Do not pr e-rinse under running water . ● Select the wash pr ogramme to suit the natur e and degr ee of the soiling on the dishes.

9 4. Door handle 5. Digital display 6. "Small load" pushbutton This is very useful and economical when only a few dishes need washing. Remember to load the cr ockery into both baskets. The indicator light corr esponding to this option will come on when selected.
10 W ater tap Flashes when: - The water tap is closed. - The mains supply has been cut off. - The inlet hose may be blocked. Open door Flashes when the door has not been pr operly closed. 9. "Delay start" pushbutton Allows the start of the pr ogramme to be delayed by a minimum of 1 hour , up to 12 hours.
11 T o deactivate these audible signals, pr ess the "small load" pushbutton for about 3 seconds, at the end of which an audible signal informs you that the audible signals have been deactivated.
12 Befor e using your dishwasher for the first time 1. Ensur e that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions. 2. Remove all packaging fr om inside the appliance. 3. Set the water softener . 4. P our 0,5 l of water inside the salt container and then fill with salt.
13 T o set a different level, pr oceed as follows: 1. Pr ess the On/Off pushbutton. 2. Pr ess the "small load" and "delay start" pushbuttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds, in the display will appear L4 which corr esponds to the curr ent level.
14 Filling with special salt Caution! The packaging of dishwasher salt and deter gents are often very similar . The accidental filling of the salt compartment with detergent would ruin the water softener . Each time you add salt, make sure the carton you have in your hand r eally is salt.
15 Important: The salt r efill indicator light on the control panel can r emain illuminated for 2-6 hour s after the salt has been replenished, assuring the dishwasher r emains on. If you are using salts that take longer to dissolve then this can take longer .
16 Adjusting the dose The corr ect dosage of the rinse-aid should be r egulated on the basis of the shine and drying r esults. For this purpose, set the quantity of liquid by means of the six-position selector (C) located on the inside of the filler opening (minimum quantity is position 1, maximum quantity is position 6).
17 Loading cutlery and dishes Sponges, household cloths and any object that can absorb water may not be washed in the dishwasher . For washing in the dishwasher the following cutlery/dishes are not suitable: ● Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or mother of pearl handles.
18 The lower basket The lower basket is designed to take saucepans, lids, plates, salad bowls, cutlery etc. Serving dishes and lar ge lids should be arr anged around the edge of the basket, ensuring that the upper spr ay arm can turn fr eely .
19 Cutlery basket Place knives, forks and spoons in the cutlery basket with their handles pointing downwar ds. Arr ange cutlery loosely and distribute it in all compartments so that each individual article has good contact with washing water . Also do not arrange spoons and forks with their dirty side in contact with each other .
20 The upper basket The upper basket is designed for plates (dessert plates, saucer s, dinner plates up to 24 cm in diameter), salad bowls, cups and glasses; these should be arr anged as shown in the pictures.
21 Adjusting the height of the upper basket If washing very lar ge plates (over 27 cm and up to 3 1 cm in diameter) you can load them in the lower basket after moving the upper basket to the higher position. T o move to the higher position pr oceed as follows: 1.
22 Use of deter gent Attention! Only use deter gents specifically designed for use in dishwashers. If using powder deter gents proceed as follows: 1. Open the dispenser lid by pulling the catch (D). 2. Add the deter gent. As all deter gents are not the same, please pay attention to the dosage instructions fr om the manufacturer of your br and.
23 Remember that insufficient quantities of deter gent will produce poor washing r esults whereas an excessive amount of deter gent does not impr ove washing results and is also wasteful.

26 Oper ating instructions 1. Check the filters Ensur e they are clean and pr operly positioned (see "Maintenance and cleaning"). 2. Pr ess the On/Off pushbutton The On/Off indicator light will illuminate and in thr ee horizontal lines (- - - ) will appear in the display .
27 The setting of the pr ogramme may occur: With open door , in this case the selected progr amme and eventual options (small load and/or delay start) will start automatically 5 seconds after the closur e of the door .
28 8b . Set and start the pr ogr amme with "delay start" ● Select the wash pr ogramme by simply pr essing one of the progr amme pushbuttons, the display will show the running time of the pr ogramme in minutes and the indicator lights of the phases corr esponding to the pr ogramme will illuminate.
29 9. At the end of the washing pr ogr amme ● The dishwasher will automatically stop and an audible signal informs you that the pr ogramme has ended. In the display appear s 000 and the indicator lights of the pr ogramme and phases turn off. Pr ess the On/Off pushbutton to switch the dishwasher off and open the door .
30 Caution! Opening the door could let very hot steam escape: you risk being scalded! Open the door with gr eat care. Do not open the door during the hot phase: this may cause hot water escape. A pr ogramme underway is interrupted when you open the door .
31 Maintenance and cleaning Internal and external cleaning Do not under any cir cumstances use furniture car e products or aggr essive cleaners. If necessary , clean the controls only with a soft cloth and pur e warm water . The spr ay arms do not need cleaning.
32 6. Remove the flat filter (4) fr om the base of the washing compartment and clean both faces thor oughly . 7. Put the flat filter back in the base of the washing compartment. 8. Place the coar se/fine filter in the micr ofilter and press together .

36 Hints for test centr es Befor e starting any test it is necessary to fill completely with salt the salt container and with rinse aid the rinse aid dispenser .

38 Installation and connection instructions Adjusting the worktop Y ou can move the worktop forward or backwar d by 25 mm in order to align the machine with other kitchen units. Simply unscr ew the two front r etaining scr ews, move the top to the requir ed position and then r etighten the screws.
39 Connecting the water supply ● Y our dishwasher can be connected to either a cold or hot water supply of max. 60°C. ● Never connect your dishwasher to open hot water appliances and continuous flow heater s! Nevertheless we advise you a cold water supply .
40 W ater outlet connection The end of the dr ain hose can be connected as follows: 1. T o the sink outlet siphon, securing it if necessary with a clip. 2. Hooked over the edge of the sink using the special curved plastic guide pr ovided. 3. T o a wall outlet provided with vent-hole, minimum internal diameter 4 cm.
41 Extension hoses The necessary extension hoses can be obtained fr om specialist shops or from our technical assistance centr es. The extension hose must be no longer than 2 metr es and its internal diameter must be no smaller than the diameter of the hose pr ovided.
42 W ater pr otection system T o protect your dishwasher fr om water damage, it is equipped with a water pr otection system. In cases of malfunction on the contr ol panel will appear the flashing alarm "AL4" (see "What do do, when...). In this case turn off the water tap and call the Service Centr e.
