Page 11 SKU 90715 Sewing Steps Follow these basic steps to setup the sewing machine. Refer to the illustration on the previ- ous page to locate the components referred to belo w . 1. Set the Se wing Machine on a table with a smooth surf ace . 2. Select and install the desired needle f or the mater ial to be se wn (See below).
Page 12 SKU 90715 Spool Threading 1. Raise the Presser Foot with the Presser Foot Lever (4). 2. T ur n the Balance Wheel (9) countercloc kwise to raise the needle to its highest position. 3. Place a spool of thread on the hor izontal spool pin and press a spool holder onto the spool pin to hold the thread spool fir mly in place .
Page 13 SKU 90715 Bobbin Placement and Threading 1. T ur n the Balance Wheel (9) countercloc kwise to raise the needle to its highest position. 2. Raise the Presser Foot with its Le ver (4). 3. Remov e the Extension T a b le (6), and then the shuttle cov er (located on front of the free arm).
Page 14 SKU 90715 Bobbin Winding 1. Change the Clutch Release Switch (10) from the needle mark to the bobbin mark. 2. With a spool of thread already on the horizontal spool pin, route the thread through the guide to the bob bin as shown belo w . 3. Place the bobbin onto the bobbin winder shaft (B) and slide the shaft to the right.
Page 15 SKU 90715 Changing the Presser Foot 1. T ur n the Balance Wheel (9) countercloc kwise to raise the needle to its highest position. 2. Raise the Presser Foot with its Le ver (4). 3. Release the F oot by raising its le ver (A) located at the bac k of the holder .
Page 16 SKU 90715 Selecting a Stitch P attern and Stitch Length T o select a stitch, tur n the P atter n Selection Knob (11). The selection knob ma y be turned in either direction. All stitches are preset in width, therefore, the stitch length is the only other necessary adjustment.
Page 17 SKU 90715 Buttonhole Sewing 1. Select setting No. 1 using the P atter n Selection Dial (11). 2. T ur n the Stitch Length Dial (3) to F-1.5. 3. Replace the Presser Foot with the Buttonhole Foot. 4. Mar k the position of the buttonhole on the f a bric using tailor’ s chalk.
Page 18 SKU 90715 Button Sewing 1. Measure the distance between the button holes and select the appropriate pattern number using the P atter n Selection Dial (11). 2. Change the Presser Foot to the Button Sewing Foot. 3. Place the darning plate on the needle plate.

Page 20 SKU 90715 Cleaning Shuttle 1. Raise the needle to its highest position. 2. Open the shuttle cover on the front of the free arm. 3. T ake out the bobbin case by opening its latch le ver (B) and pulling it out from the shuttle r ac e. 4. Slide the latch lev ers out from the retaining r ing (A) and remov e.
