The Router lets you access the I nternet via a wireless connection or through one of its four switched Gigabit Ethernet por ts.
Linksys E2000 Chapter 1: P roduct Over view 2 Advanced Wireless-N Router Horizontal Plac ement The Rout er has four rubber f eet on its bottom panel. Place the Router on a level surface near an electr ical outlet. W all-Mounting Placement The Router has two wall-mount slots on its bottom panel.

If you would like to change its advanced settings, use the Router ’ s browser-based utilit y .
4 Advanced Wireless-N Router Linksys E2000 Chapter 2: Adv anced Configur ation Automatic C onfiguration - DHCP The default I nternet Connection T ype is set to Automatic Configur ation - DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Pr otocol). Keep the default only if your ISP suppor ts DHCP or you are c onnecting using a dynamic IP Address .

Connect on Demand: Max Idle Time Y ou can configure the Router to cut the Internet connection af ter it has been inac tive for a specified period of time (Max Idle Time).

Then click Add Clients . • Manually Adding Client T o manually assign an IP address, enter the client ’ s name in the Enter Client Name field.

Use the method that applies to the client device y ou are configuring. Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings ( Wi-F i Protected Setup) NO TE: Wi-F i P rotected Setup configures one client device at a time .
12 Advanced Wireless-N Router Linksys E2000 Chapter 2: Adv anced Configur ation Office Options The office options are available for net works that use a R ADIUS ser ver for authentication. The office options are stronger than the personal options because WP A2 or WP A provides encryption while RADIUS provides authentication.
13 Advanced Wireless-N Router Linksys E2000 Chapter 2: Adv anced Configur ation WP A2/WP A Enterprise Mixed Mode This option features WP A2/WP A used in coor dination with a RADIUS server . ( This should only be used when a RADIUS server is connected to the Router .

16 Advanced Wireless-N Router Linksys E2000 Chapter 2: Adv anced Configur ation Advanc ed Wireless AP Isolation The AP (Access Point) Isolation feature isolates all wireless clients and wir eless devices on y our network from each other . Wireless devices will be able to communicate with the Router but not with each other .

18 Advanced Wireless-N Router Linksys E2000 Chapter 2: Adv anced Configur ation Ac cess Restric tions > Internet Acc ess The Int ernet Ac cess screen allows you to deny or allow specific kinds of Internet usage and traffic, such as Internet access, designated services, and websit es during specific days and times .

Select the individual days during which the policy will be in effect, or select Everyda y . Then enter a range of hours and minutes during which the policy will be in effect, or selec t 24 Hours .
