4 Safety Please r ead this instruction book before using the appliance and r etain for futur e refer ence. These warnings are pr ovided in the interests of your safety , ensur e you understand them fully befor e using the appliance. Intended u se • The appliance is intended for use in the home.
5 ble materials such as, for example, spr ay cans, fire extinguisher r efill car- tridges etc in the r efrigerator/fr eezer . • Bottles and cans must not be placed in the fr eezer compartment. They can bur st when the contents freeze, high carbonate content drinks can even explode! Never stor e lemonade, juices, beer , wine, sparkling wine etc.
6 Remove T r ansport P ackaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e pr otected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Y ou can remove any r emnants of adhesive using white spirit. W arning! Before disposing of old appliances make them inoper able.

Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensur e fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The r emaining storage shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the stor age shelf forward until it can be tipped up or down and r emo- ved.
V ariable Inner Door The door compartments can be pulled up and r emoved, and inserted at other positions as needed. V ariable Stor age Box Some models ar e equipped with a variable storage box which is fitted under a door shelf compartment and can be slid sideways.
10 Fr eezing and storing frozen food Y ou can use your freezer for fr eezing fresh food your self. Important! • The temper ature in the fr eezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder befor e freezing food. • Please observe the fr eezing capacity given on the rating plate.
11 Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the dr awers show differ ent types of frozen goods. • The number s indicate storage times in months for the appr opriate types of fr ozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indi- cated stor age time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pr e-treating befor e freezing.
12 Switching off the appliance To switch off the appliance, turn the temperatur e regulator to position "0" or disconnect fr om the electricity supply . If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period: 1. Remove all r efrigerated and deep-fr ozen packages as well as ice trays.
13 Cleaning and Car e For hygienic r easons the appliance interior , including interior accessories, should be cleaned r egularly . W arning! Befor e carrying out any cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the appli- ance fr om the electricity supply or turn the temperatur e regulator to “0” .
14 Symptom Possible Cause Remedy Appliance does not work. Appliance is not switched on Switch on the appliance. Mains plug is not plugged in or is loose. Insert mains plug. Fuse has blown or is defective. Check fuse, replace if necessary . Socket is defective.
15 Heavy build up of frost, possibly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (possi- bly after rever sing the door). Carefully warm the non sealing sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (not hotter than approx. 50 °C). At the same time shape the warmed door seal by hand such that it sits correctly .
16 Changing the light bulb W arning! There is a risk of electric shocks! Befor e changing the light bulb , switch off the appliance and disconnect fr om the mains supply . Light bulb data: 220-240 V, max. 15 W 1. T o switch off the appliance, turn the temperatur e regulator to position "0".

18 Guar antee Conditions Guar antee Condition s AEG offer the following guarantee to the fir st purchaser of this appliance. 1. The guar antee is valid for 12 months commencing when the appliance is handed over to the first r etail purchaser , which must be verified by pur chase invoice or similar documen- tation.

For corr ect operation this appliance must be located in a dry atmospher e, away fr om heat sources, e.
21 Reversing the door The side the door opens can be changed fr om the right side (factory fitted) to the left side. W arning! When changing the side the door opens, the appliance must not be connected to the mains. Remove plug fr om the mains befor e rever sing the door .
22 4. Unscr ew the middle hinge and r emove the refriger ator compart- ment door by pulling it downwar ds. 5. With a scr ewdriver , unscr ew the two masking plugs covering the holes on the left-hand side and r efit them on the right-hand side. 6. Unscr ew the pin from the top hinge and r efit it on the left- hand side.
