17 Setup Connection t o a C omput er This pr oduct has three interfaces that can be used t o r eceive printing dat a: a serial port (RS2 3 2C), parallel port (IEEE1 2 8 4), and a USB port (USB1.1). An optional internal Ethernet (LAN) or Wir eless LAN (W iFi) por t can be added b y your dealer .

21 Print er Operation Set ting the Media Media Sizes The position of label and t ag media is sensed b y either a transpar ent sensor or a reflectiv e sensor .

2 Print er Oper ation 24 7 . Align the media with the left fix ed media guide (2 locations), align the right mo vable media guide with the media width, and low er the sensor arm. 8. Lower and lock the head unit. Align it with the width of the media that has been set, then se t the media width and media thickness adjustment dials.

27 Print er Operation Menu Setup Mode If the print er pow er is turn on while the MODE/REPEA T ke y is pressed, the printer ent er s menu setup mode. In this mode, the print er’ s configur ation can be changed using the V uePrint Men u Sy stem. During menu set ting mode, the PRINT LED and CONDITION LED are on.

37 Print er Adjustment s Media Thickne ss Adjustment It is necessary t o per form offse t adjustment because the head offset varies according t o the t ype of media. The printer can be adjust ed easil y b y r ota ting the media thickness adjustment dial.
3 Print er Adjustment s 38 Media W idth Adjustment Caution When using narro w media, be sure t o do this adjustment. (If you do not, the head ma y be damaged b y jamming, etc.) 9 Media width adjustment dial The head pr essur e varies according to the width of the media being print ed.
39 Print er Adjustment s Cleaning Wipe off an y for eign mat ter such as media dust, dirt and adhesive substances built up around the prinhead with the head cleaning pen (head cleaner) pro vided, and use a soft cloth soak ed in eth yl alcohol for the plat en etc.
4 T r oubleshooting 40 Indication The LED do not light up when print er power is connect ed. Paper is feeding, but nothing is print ed. The printer is not printing neatly . Correctiv e action 1) Insert the plug of the power cord corr ectly in the electric outlet.
