21 Print er Opera tion 1 P A USE ke y: T empor arily pauses printing • When this k ey is pushed once, the L CD indica t es "P ause" and the printer t empor arily pauses. • When it is pushed during printing, the printer pauses aft er the label currentl y being print ed is issued.

23 Print er Opera tion Se t ting the Media Media Size s The position of label and t ag media is sensed b y either a transpar ent sensor or a r eflectiv e sensor .

It is advisable to pull a length of media forw ar ds and thr ough the mechanism ready for lat er positioning. 5. Mo ve the media roll so it is touching the left side of the housing.

29 Print er Opera tion Set ting the Media Using the R e winder for Batches of Print ed Media (CL -S700R models/R e wind Mode) The optional R e winder P aper Guide is nece ssary for batch mode r ewinding. The op tional Adjust able R e winder Flange is nece ssary if a paper core is t o be inst alled to r eceive the media.
2 Print er Oper ation 30 6. Insert the end of the media in t o the slo t in the re winder flange and wind the media on t o itself with two or three turns t o ensure it is held pr operl y . 31 Print er Opera tion 7 . If the optional adjust able rewinder flange is being used with a paper cor e, the media can be a t tached t o the paper cor e directly with t ape or glue. Then the flange is se t in the printer . F or details on installing and r emoving the cardboard r efer to the instructions cont ained with the adjustable flange.
2 Print er Oper ation 32 2. Install the un used ribbon and holder in t o the rear ribbon driv e unit. The spline s on the ribbon drive gear mechanism engage with the end of the ribbon holder . 1 2 Se t ting the Ribbon The follo wing kinds and sizes of ribbons can be used.
33 Print er Opera tion 3. Push the lar ge blue head-open le ver t o relea se the head unit. Pull out the ribbon fr om the bot t om of the head unit to the ribbon winding side. 4. Using t ape etc., fix the ribbon tha t you hav e pulled out on the ribbon holder on which the paper core has been se t and wind it on the ribbon holder .
2 Print er Oper ation 34 6. Lo wer the head unit back do wn t o the closed position. Push the head close knob firmly t o close and lock the mechanism. The mechanism is only lock ed corr ectly when you head a “click” . If the ribbon is wrinkled, push the FEED k ey until the wrinkles disappear .
35 Print er Opera tion Mode Se t tings HEX Dump Mode When using label media T urn on print er pow er while pushing the S TOP k ey . If the POWER LED is lit and the L CD indicat es "Hex Dump Mode" and "Label Media", r elea se the ST OP ke y , and then the print er enter s HEX DUMP mode.

37 Print er Opera tion Menu Se tup Mode If the MENU ke y is pr essed while the print er is in the On Line Read y stat e, the print er enter s men u se tup mode. In this mode, the print er's configuration can be changed using the oper a tion panel.
