8 9 1) Plug the pow er supply & line cord into the base station. 2) Plug the other end of pow er supply & line cord into the wall sock et, as shown. 3) Alwa ys use the cables provided in the bo x. 1) Slide out the batter y compartment cover . 2) Place the two batteries as indicated.
10 11 HANDSET OVER VIEW 1. RD/P (REDIAL / P AUSE) • In idle mode , press repeatedl y to view the last numbers dialed • While entering numbers, press and hold to insert a dialing pause (P) 2. AUDIO BOOST During a call, press to enhance the clarity and loudness of y our caller’ s v oice .
12 13 6. V OLUME DOWN / CALL LOG / SCR OLL DOWN • In menu mode: Press to scr oll down the menu items. • During a call, pr ess to decrease listening v olume . • In idle mode , press to access the call list. • While entering names or numbers in the directory , press to mov e the cursor to the left.
14 15 B ASE OVER VIEW 1. B ASE DISPLA Y • In idle: shows the clock status. • "_ _ _ _" will ash if the time is not set; ":" will ash when the time is set and running. • In base speak erphone volume adjusting mode (during a call): the middle tw o digits show the base speak erphone volume lev el.
16 17 The screen displa y gives y ou information on the curr ent status of the telephone. The speak erphone is turned on. While re viewing the call list history , missed calls that ha ve not been r eview ed. The ringer is switched off. New v oicemail receiv ed from the telephone ser vice pro vide (network subscription is r equired).
18 19 The following table sho ws you where each letter and punctuation character can be found. This will be helpful when storing a name in the directory . In editing mode, a cursor is displa yed to indicate the cur rent text entr y position. It is positioned at the right of the last character entered.
20 21 V olume Control (earpiece and speak erphone) During a call: Press <UP/DO WN> to increase or decrease the listening v olume. The current setting is shown. When the volume r eaches the minimum or maximum setting, you hear tw o beeps. When you end the call, the setting will remain at the last selected lev el.
22 23 6. Call from the Call Log 1. In idle mode, press <DO WN> to access the call log. Alternatively , press <MENU/SELECT> to access the call log fr om the main menu. 2. Press <UP/DO WN> to select the desired call log entry . 3. Press <T ALK ON / FLASH> or <SPEAKER> to dial out to the selected entr y .
24 25 Note: Press <T ALK OFF/CLEAR> to exit the directory , call log history or redial list and r eturn to the call without dialing the displa yed number . Redial list Y ou can redial up to 20 of the last numbers called. If you ha ve stored a name in the directory to go with the number , the name will be displa yed instead.
26 27 T ransfer an External Call from Handset to Handset During an external call: 1. Press <MENU/SELECT>, then <UP/DO WN> to select Inter com . 2. Press <MENU/SELECT>: • If you ha ve two handsets, the outside call is put on hold and your handset screen sho ws Calling other ha ndset .
28 29 Sear ch a Directory Entry b y Name 1. In idle mode, press <UP> to sho w the rst entr y in the directory . 2. When an entr y appears, press the dial pad k eys (0-9) to start a name search (alphabetical sear ch).
30 31 This telephone has 10 speed dial locations where y ou can assign telephone numbers fr om the directory you wish to dial numbers by pr essing and holding the respectiv e digits ke ys from idle mode. Only one handset can access the speed dial locations at a time.
32 33 CALLER ID DISPLA Y (NETWORK DEPENDENT) This product supports caller ID services offered by most telephone service pro viders. If you ha ve subscribed to Caller ID service , and pr ovided the ide.
34 35 • For example, if a caller number is display ed as 123-456-7890, the various formats will be: • 456-7890 • 1-456-7890 • 123-456-7890 • 1-123-456-7890 Y ou ma y choose the desired number format f or local and long distance numbers befor e dialing or sa ving it into the phonebook.
36 37 4. Press <MENU/SELECT> to turn the v oicemail indication off. A conrmation tone sounds. -OR- Press <T ALK OFF/CLEAR> to cancel the procedur e.
38 39 Pr og ram the Direct Memory K eys on base There are four direct memor y k eys on the base, which share the same phone number with Speed Dial locations under ke ys 0 through 3 on the handset.
40 41 REGISTER/DEREGISTER HANDSETS Y our telephone can support up to ve cordless handsets. The additional handset(s) needs to register with the telephone base bef ore use. Y ou must register each ad ditional handset separately . The handsets pro vided within your pr oduct box are alr eady register ed as HANDSET 1 and so forth.
42 43 If you ha ve difculty with your telephone, please tr y the suggestions below . My telephone doesn ’t work at all • Mak e sure the pow er cord is securel y plugged in. • Mak e sure that the battery connector is securely plugged into the cordless handset.
44 45 "Out of range or no pwr at base" appears on my cor dless handset • Ensure that the telephone base is po wered up . • Place the cordless handset in the telephone base f or one minute to allow the cordless handset and base to synchr onize.
46 47 My caller ID isn’t working • Caller ID is a subscription ser vice. Y ou must subscribe to this service from y our telephone ser vice pro vider for this feature to w ork on your telephone. • Y our caller must be calling from an ar ea that supports caller ID .
