Pull lock tab down and lift door up (tow ards you) to remov e batter y cover . Inser t f our “ AAA ” batteries . Position batteries according t o p o l a ri t y mark i n g s . Remov e b elt clip by (A.) pulling tab out and (B.) Sliding b elt clip up and off unit.
T urning On Y our MicroTalk Rotat e ON - OFF V olume Control clockwise . An audible “tone ” will indic at e the unit is on and then the LCD will go through a 3 second self-test and then go to oper ational mode. Operation 5 Note Whenever the unit is on you can receive communica - tions.
Select main channel b y pushing and releasing buttons. Operation 7 Note Units must be on same channel and subchannels to communicate. Note Channels 8-12 generally are less used and give better results for communications in most areas. Note Pu sh a nd h ol d t he buttons for fast channel advance .
