There are 57 scre ws, in sev en different sizes, that must be remov ed and replaced when servicing the computer . Make special note of each scre w size and location during remov al and replacement.
5–2 Maintenance and Ser vice Guide Remov al and Replacement Procedures 5.1 Serial Number Report the computer serial number to Compaq when requesting information or ordering spare parts. The serial number is located on the bottom of the computer as indicated in Figure 5-1.

The computer feet are included in the Miscellaneous Plastics/Hardware Kit, spare part number 285541-001. The computer feet attach to the base enclosure as illustrated in Figure 5-9.

The board tilts up at a 45-degree angle (Figure 5-11). 8. Remov e the board by pulling it a way from the connector at a 45-degree angle 2 .

T urn the computer bottom side up with the rear panel facing forward. 3. Remov e the PM2.5 × 4.0 screw 1 that secures the mini PCI compartment cov er to the base enclosure (Figure 5-12).
