5 I mportant battery information The E ye-Q Easy camera uses a type of memory that continually draws power to retain the pictur es in the camera ’ s internal memory even if the camera is powered of f. If the battery po wer is depleted and you have not transferred your images to the computer , you will lose them.
6 G etting started Congratulations on your purchase of the Concord E ye-Q Easy digital camera. This camera features 8 MB of internal memory allo wing you to store still images or short 30 second movie clips in the camera. Please r ead this manual before operating the camera to become more familiar with the features of this versatile digital camera.
7 Learning the LCD display By default, the 3 digit LCD screen displays the number of images taken. It is also used in conjunction with the P ower / S elect button and Shutter button to access and display the E ye-Q Easy settings.
8 Loading the batteries 2 AA alkaline batteries are included with your camera. 1. Make sure your camera is of f. 2. Open the battery door as shown. 3. Insert the batteries with the positive terminal toward the + sign, and the negative terminal toward the - sign.
9 Tu rning the camera on/of f After inserting the batteries, the camera will automatically power on. The camera is ready for picture taking when the red B usy LED on the back of the camera turns off and the green R eady LED is illuminated. To turn the camera on, press the P ower/S elect button.
10 2. T aking Pictur es P hotos can be captured in one of three quality modes. These modes differ in photo file size and quality . The compr ession setting is the default mode for still images. Y ou also have the ability to capture video or take pictures with a self-timer with the Concord E ye-Q Easy digital camera.
11 T aking a picture with flash The Concord E ye-Q Easy has two flash modes, Automatic Flash and Flash Of f. F lash Off is the default mode. When the r ed Busy LED on the back of the camera is illuminated there is not sufficient light to yield a good quality image without using the flash.
12 T aking a movie clip Y ou can record a movie clip in AVI format with your Concord E ye-Q Easy . The resolution of the movie clip is 160 x 120. 1. T urn the camera on by pressing the P ower/Select button. 2. Scroll through the menu and select mo vie mode by pressing the Po w er/Select button until the movie camera icon appears.
13 D eleting pictures and video Y ou have the option of deleting the last image captured in each quality setting and video mode or you may delete all images and video captured. To delete the last image captured: 1. Scroll through the menu using the P ower/Select button.
14 3. Installing the drivers and softwar e Installing the software on a Windows PC 1. Insert the CD-R OM disc into the CD-R OM Drive 2. The CD-ROM disk will autorun and then another windo w will appear . 3. Select the language and then press “ ok” to continue.
15 Uploading your pictures to your PC 1. Make sure that your camera is secur ely connected to your PC and the USB sign appears on the LCD. 2. Launch the Arcsoft PhotoI mpression application. 3. Click on Get Photos and select “Camera/Scanner .” 4. Pull do wn the “Select Source ” manual and a list of devices will be displayed.
16 U ploading your video clips to your PC 1. Make sure that your camera is secur ely connected to your PC and the USB sign appears on the LCD. 2. Launch the Arcsoft PhotoI mpression application. 3. Click on Get Photos and select “Camera/Scanner”. 4.
17 U ninstalling the software on a Windo ws PC Y ou may uninstall the software when the software is no longer required or when the software installation fails. 1. T urn on your PC and start up Windows. 2. Open the “M y Computer” windows and double-click on the “A dd/Remove Pr ograms ” in the Control P anel.
18 4. Cleaning and maintenance Be sure to read this information to ensure that y ou use your camera correctly . P laces to A void Do not store or use the camera in the following places or locations: •V ery humid, dirty or dusty places.
19 S tor ing the camera If y ou do not intend to use the camera for a long period of time, remove the batteries before storing the camera. Cleaning your Camera U se a blo wer brush to remov e dust from the lens and LCD surface and then wipe lightly with a soft, dry cloth.
20 SYMPTOM All the images I have taken do not appear . I cannot upload images to the PC. The battery indicator is less than half. PR OBLEM I nsufficient battery po wer . The battery was removed before the camera was connected to the PC. Connection failure.
21 SYMPTOM My CD installation wizard does not work. The image counter on the L CD flashed after I took my last image. I get a blurred image when uploading my images to my computer . I press the shutter button and get no r esponse. PR OBLEM The auto installation file is switched to off or the CD ROM is not in the drive.
