SECTION 1. INTRODUCTON Thank you for choosi ng the Glide Power Wheelc hair. An Australian desi gn ed and manufactured pro duct, which complies with AS 3 695 and has a manufacturers reco mmended maximum user w eight of 175kg. With proper care and operation your wh eelchair will provide years of trouble free mobility.
SECTION 2. STANDARD FEATURES The illustration ( Fig 1. below ) is a list of the Series 6 & Series 7 standard featu re s 1. Drop Down Arms 2. Battery Pack 3. Drive Clutch 4. Front Castor Wheels 5. Controller 6. “CTA”Suspensio n 7. Footrests 8. Fold Do w n Back 9.
SECTION 3. WARNINGS Read and understa nd the warnings stated in thi s section. To the Occupant WARNING! 1. Before using this c hair, obtain advice and traini ng from your health professional. 2. Each chair is custom d esigned to suit individual needs.
Even though the “CT A System” improves manoeuvrab ility and stability, this d oes not negate the effect or take into account, circumstance s, which put the wheelc hair outside the specified op erating conditions for which it was de signed and tested.
• Drive chair at a slow stea dy speed .Do not allow chair to accelerate over normal speed. Ce ntre the joystick to allow it to slo w do wn or stop. • Never use attendant br akes to slow or stop the c hair. This may cause the chair to veer or c han ge direction err atically.
MODIFICATIONS WARNING! Never make any m odificatio ns or use non-approved Glide Rehabilitation P roducts parts on your po w er chair. Do ing so may ca use a safety hazard and co uld void Warranty. Unauthorised changes co nstitute remanufacturin g of the power chair.
SECTION 4. OPERATING YOUR POWER CHAIR CONTROLLER Your new Po w er Chair ha s the option of two types of contr ol systems, Dynamic Controls or Pe nny & Giles Co ntrols. You will have b een given instruction on ho w to operate your controller at time of specification.
1. Clamp T y pe – to adjust height simply loosen cla mp bolt, move to desired position, retighten clamp bolt. 2. Incre m ental Hole T ype – to adjust height si m pl y un - do and remove bolt, move footplate to nearest hole to suit desired hei ght, replace and tighten bo lt firmly.
SECTION 5. TRANSPORTING YOUR P OWER CHAIR Transpor ting your Po w er Chai r in motor vehicles can be ea sily achieved by the following method s . STATION WAGON The backrest folds d own onto the seat by pulling o ut pins A , B , and C (see Fig 2 below ) Note: P ins A & B are released by first pulling them out a nd then twisting.

SECTION 6. BATTERY CHARG ING AND MAINTENANCE Keeping the Po w er Chair w or king to its maximum potential it is recommended the batteries be charged every night. This will e nsure a longer life for the batterie s and chair will be ready to go when you are.
SECTION 7. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DAILY Charge your batter ies every night so your Po w er Chair is r eady to go when y ou are. WEEKLY 1. Check tyre press ures (30PSI front, 30 PSI rear) 2. Clean frame and vinyl parts with mild soap y solution. 3. Wipe upholstery with a clean damp cloth 4.
SECTION 8. TROUBLE SHOOTING If your Po w er Chair w ill not g o, follow this checklist 1. Check that the l ights on control b ox are illuminated. 2. If there are no lig hts on controller, c heck that all leads/plugs, which connect to controller, ar e pushed in properly.

CONTROLS On/Off Push butto n This is a green pus hbutton switch fitted in front of t he joystick, which turns the controller On and Off . Do not use this switch to stop the wheelchair except in an emergency.
1. To adj ust s peed when in t his m ode – The maximum speed ca n be adjusted by left or right move m ents o f the joystick. Left will decrease th e speed, right will increase it. For w ard o r reverse movements of the j oystick will take you back into drive mode.

CONTROLS DX – G90A REM OTES On/Off B utton – This is a white pad loc ated in front of joystick co ntrol knob. It is also identified b y having 1/0 p rinted on it. Mode/Prog ram Select Butt on This is a Light Blue pa d located to the left of the On /Off pad.

The Shark Infor mation Gauge The Shark infor m ation gauge is the primary source of user feedback. It d isplays every possible status that SH ARK may have, includi ng; • Shark Power On • True state of batter y charge, i ncluding notification of w he n the battery desperately requires char ging.
Turning the SHARK On and OFF Turning the Po wer ON • Press the Po w er Button • All indicators will light b riefly • Either the current batter y charge or Lock Mode will then be indicated Turning the Po wer OFF • Press the Po w er button • The LED’s will turn of f.
Sleep Mo de Some Sharks m ay be supplied factory progra mmed with a Sleep feature that will automatically turn SH ARK off if the joystick has not b een moved within a certain period of time.
Note: User should en sure proper mode is selected b efore attempting to dr ive or operate actuator. Locking the SHARK Some SHARKS m ay be supplied factory progra mmed with a LOCK feature that prevents unauthorised people from turning SHARK o n.
Note: If the user do es not press the horn butto n twice before the countdo wn is co m plete, the HORN will sou nd a short BEEP a nd Shark w ill turn itse lf off. The sequence must be completed success fu ll y befor e SHARK will drive again nor mally.
SECTION 11. PRECAUTIONS FOR CONTROLLER USE The Dynamic and P enny & Giles controller has been de signed w ith the user safety as the prime consideratio n. They incorpor ate m any, so phisticated self – test features which search for potential pro blems.
SECTION 12. TRANSFERRING TO AND FROM YOUR POWER CHAIR. The Glide Rehabilitatio n Products Power Chair is des igned in such a w ay that transferring in and o ut can be done w ith a minimu m of fuss.

SECTION 15. WARRANTY Lendal Pty Ltd (trad ing as Glide Rehabilitation P roducts) warrants the follo wing as listed: Controllers 12-months warrant y Controllers and associate d hardware will be re paired where possible. Replacement will only occur if repair is not practical or not p ossible.
