M ove the lever to the right, then for ward o r backw ard to one of the three positions .

17 S ectio n 6 — M aintenan ce & a djuStMentS Auger Shaft At least once a seas on, remove the shear p ins from the auger shaf t. Spray lubric ant inside the shaf t and around th e spacers and the f lange bea rings found at eith er end of the shaf t.
18 S ectio n 6 — M aintenance & a dj uStMentS Drive Con trol When th e drive control is release d and in the diseng aged “up” positio n, the cable sh ould have very lit tle slack .
Se r vi ce 7 19 Belt Replac ement Auger Belt NOT E: It is not necess ary to rem ove both belt s in order to change either o ne. If changing jus t one belt , be cer tain to check the condition o f the other be lt. 1. Allow the eng ine to run until it is out of fu el.
20 S ectio n 7 — S ervice 6. Unhook t he idler sprin g from the he x bolt on the au ger housing. See F igure 7 - 4. Stop Bolt Hex Bolt Idler Spring Figure 7 - 4 7. Lif t the auger b elt from th e auger pulley, and slip belt bet ween th e suppor t bracket and th e auger pulley.

Remove and rep lace belt in the rever se order. NOT E: Engaging the dr ive control will ease re -assembl y of the belt.
22 S ectio n 7 — S ervice 6. If repla cing the entire assemb ly , p ut the new fri ction w heel assembl y in place and follow th e steps in reverse to re - assembl e. Repeat the dr ive control test on pag e 1 8. If you only w ant to replace the fric tion wh eel rubb er , continue with s tep 7 .
