4 5. Never run an eng ine indoors or in a poorly ventil ated area. Engine ex haust contains carbon mon oxide, an odorless and dea dly gas . 6. Do not operate m achine wh ile under the influ ence of alcohol or dru gs. 7. Muffler a nd engine becom e hot and can c ause a burn.
5 SECTION 2: LOOSE PARTS The snow th rower is shippe d with the follo wing loo se parts i n the carton. Please remov e all loos e parts from the carton be fore disc arding it . See below to ide ntify the par ts, noting that these part s may be ref erred to aga in in the following secti ons of the m anual.
6 Figure 3 NOTE: If th e connec tor is no t properly assemb led, the shift rod will pivot and you will not be able to change speed s or chang e directi ons. • If not al ready attach ed, slip th e cabl es that run fro m the handle pa nel to the chute into the cabl e guide located on top of the engi ne.
7 • Loosen th e jam nut on th e traction control cabl e (located opp osite the auger contr ol cable) and UNTHREAD the ca ble one full turn. • Rec heck the ad jus tment. • Retig hten the jam nut to secure the cable when the corre ct adjustm ent is reached .
8 Tract ion Control / Auger Control Lock The tractio n control is located on the r ight handl e. See Figure 7. Sq ueeze the tra ction con trol to engag e the wheel dri ve. Releas e to stop. This sa me lever als o lock s the auger co ntrol so you can opera te the electri c chute rotat ion switch wit hout interrupti ng the snow throwi ng proc ess.
9 Figure 9 Headlight The headl ight is on when ever the en gine is ru nning. Thro ttle Con tro l The thrott le control is lo cated on the en gine. It regulate s the speed of the engine and wil l shut off the eng ine when pushed down comple tely. See Fig ure 9.
10 • Connect th e power co rd (elec tric start) to the switc h box on th e engine. Plug t he other end of powe r cord into a three -hole, gr ounded 12 0 volt AC rec eptacle . • Push the pr imer button th ree tim es. If the engin e is warm, push the primer button once on ly.
11 SECTION 6: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WARN ING: NEVER attempt to make adj ustments while the e ngine is run ning, e xcept wher e specif ied in the oper ator ’ s m anual. Chute Directional Adjustment The dist ance snow is thrown can b e adjusted by adjustin g the angle of the chute asse mbly.

14 Belt Remov al And Replacement WARNING: Dis connec t the spa rk plug wi re and ground it against th e engine before performing any repair s or m aintena nce. Auger Belts • Remo ve the plast ic bel t cove r at t he fr ont of the engin e by removing the two self-t apping sc rews.
15 Fig ure 18 Servicing Friction Wheel Rubber The rubber on the friction wh eel is subjec t to wear and should be c hecked aft er 25 hours of ope ration, and periodica lly the reafter. Replace the fric tion wheel rubber if any signs of wear or cracking are found.
16 • Follow “ S torage ” ins tructio ns in the E ngine M anual. • Store in a clean, dry area. Block the snow th rower up so it is not resting on the rubbe r auger bl ades.
