Ove rview IP Phone 2004 Hard ware features The IP Phone 2004 with KEM suppor ts the follo wing f eatures: • supports the use of two Key Expansion Modules (KEMs) for maximum of 44 programmable keys (plus any additional lines available on the 2004) .

Connecting the IP Phone 2004 components Before y ou begin CA UTION Damage to Equipment Do not plug the IP Phone into a regular telephone jac k. This results in sev ere damage to the IP Phone 2004. Consult y our system administrator to ensure that y ou plug your telephone into a 10/100BaseT Ether net jack.

U se t he angle g r i p on the top back of the phone to adjust the angle of the phone.
15 Logging on F ollow this procedure to log on to the network. If the Centrex IP Client Manager (CICM) is set up as par t of a group of CICMs, you can choose which CICM to connect to . After you select a gate wa y , the ter minal directs itself at that CICM and the User name screen appears.
16 Logging o ff 19 Logging off F ollow this procedure to log off from the netw ork. Step Action 1 F rom the main menu, select Logoff . 2 Press Ok . A confirmation screen appears.
17 Displa ying the menu F ollow this procedure to access the main menu. Y ou must be logged on to access the main menu system. Step Action 1 On the IP Phone, perform one of these actions: • press the Menu soft ke y • press the Ser vices ke y The main menu opens.

Setting the date format 37 Step Action 1 F rom the main menu, open the Time menu. 2 F rom the Time menu, select and open Time Format . The Time F or mat screen appears. 3 Scroll through the Time F or mat options to select the format you want. A check mark appears beside the format currently in use.
38 Using the Time menu Resetting the default time F ollow this procedure to reset the terminal to the def ault time. Step Action 1 F rom the main menu, open the Time menu. 2 F orm the Time menu, select and open Reset . A confirmation screen appears. 3 Confirm the action.
Using the User menu F ollow procedures in this section to view and edit your User profile . Viewing y our user name F ollow this procedure to vie w y our user name. Step Action 1 F rom the main menu, open the User menu. 2 F rom the User menu, select and open Username .
40 Using the User menu Viewing, disab ling, or enabling the auto login feature F ollow this procedure to vie w , enable , or disable the A uto Login f eature. Any maintenance activity , f or e xample a fir mware upgrade , f orces a log off from the network.
Changing your pass word 41 Changing y our passw ord F ollow this procedure to change your pass word. If y ou are unf amiliar with how to use the dialpad to enter te xt, see "Using the dialpad to enter te xt" (page 4 5) b efore y ou p erf o rm this p rocedure.
Making a call There are se v eral wa ys to make a call from an IP Phone 2004. Use off-hook dialing F ollow this procedure to mak e a call using off-hook dialing. 1 Your primary extension is assigned to the lower right-hand feature key. 2 Pick up the handset and your primary extension is automatically activated and ready for you to make a call.
4 For privacy, lift the handset. 5 To return to Handsfree, press the Handsfree key (the small green circular button on the bottom left corner of your telephone) and put the handset down in its cradle. Using Predial F ollow this procedure to use the predial feature to make a call.
Ans wering and terminating calls Answering a call Each incoming call causes the telephone to sound, the an arro w beside the Line (DN) k ey to flash, and the Message Indicator lamp to flash. F ollow this procedure to ans wer a call. Choose one of the following to answer a call: • Lift the handset.
While on an active call This section describes f eatures av ailable during an activ e call. Placing a call on hold The Hold f eature allows you to suspend a call without terminating it. F ollow this procedure to use the hold f eature. To place a call on hold, press the Hold key.
52 While on an active call T ransferring a call F ollow this procedure to tr ansf er a call to another e xtension. 1 Press the Transfer key in the upper display area. The other party is on hold and a dial tone sounds. The LCD indicator light flashes steadily.
While a wa y fr om y our desk This section describes f eatures to use when you are a wa y from your desk. Forwarding calls F ollow this procedure to forw ard calls to another IP Phone when you are aw a y from your desk. 1 To activate Call Forward, without lifting the handset, press the Forward key in the upper display area.
Conference calls This section describes f eatures that enable conv ersations between more than two people. Setting up a conference call The conf erence f eature enables y ou to add up to five people (30 for Multimedia seat) to an established c all . F ollow t his procedure to set up a procedure to engage conference call.
56 Conference calls Using the call join feature If you are talking with a person and ha ve another person on hold (on another line), you can join both par ties into a conference call. 1 While on a call, press the Conference key in the upper display area.
57 Using the Inbo x After you assign a feature k e y to the Inbo x, the IP Phone 2004 logs all incoming calls to that k ey . The system logs the incoming k ey n umber , time and date, as well as the display shown on the IP Phone 2004 at the time of the incoming call.
58 Using the Inbox Accessing the Inbox F ollow this procedure to access and use the Inbo x. Step Action 1 Press the Inbo x k ey . The Inbo x screen appears, showing a list of the 10 most recent incoming calls. 2 Select an item from the list, and press Ok .
Resetting the Inbox 59 Step Action 1 Press Inbo x ke y . The Inbo x screen appears, showing a list of the 10 most recent incoming calls. 2 Select a number from the list. 3 Press Ok . The Dial screen appears. 4 Press the down navigation k ey to select Store .

The calls in the Inbo x are deleted. Y ou retur n to the pre vious screen. —End— Resetting the Inbo x F ollow this procedure to delete the contents of the Inbo x.
Using the Outbo x After you assign a feature k e y to the Outbo x, the IP Phone 2004 logs all outgoing calls to that DN. The system logs the outgoing k e y number , time, and date. If the duration of the call is longer than two seconds, the system captures the displa y as it appeared when the call w as made.

Overview This document describes the IP P hone K ey E xpansion M odule ( KEM) and how to use it with the 2004 IP Phone . IP Phone Ke y Expansion Module description KEM i s a h ardware c omponent that connects to an IP Phone to expand number of fix ed line and feature the number of ke ys av ailab le to the phone.
Over v ie w IP Phone Key Expansion Module Each KEM has a desk-mount brack et and str uctural base plate to connect the KEM to a n IP P hone 2 004 or t o a nother KEM. You can connect a maximum o f t wo K EMs t o t he I P p hone 2004. A standalone IP Phone 2004 has 11 f eature ke ys.
K ey Expansion Module displa y Ke y Expansion Module configuration The IP P hone K ey E xpansion M odule ( KEM) d oes not h a v e a n option menu of its own. When a KEM is installed on an IP Phone, the IP Phone controls the ke ys of the KEM just as it does its native ke ys.
Setup and assembl y The IP P hone K ey E xpansion M odule ( KEM) m ounts o n the r ight s ide of the IP Phone . A desk-mount brack et and a structural baseplate are provided, to secure the KEM to the IP Phone. KEM attaches to the IP Phone or another KEM through the accessor y e xpansion module (AEM) interf ace.
Setup a nd assembly 4 After the cable is attached to the phone , reconnect the ribbon cable to the KEM. The KEM star ts when it is attached to a power source . The KEM does not hav e its own pow er source, and it dra ws its power from the IP Phone to which it is connected.
