HYP Hyperbolic function designation symbol Appears when a h yperbolic function is designated. DEG Degree mode symbol Appears when degree mode is desig- nated or shows that the angular mode of the conv erted result is in degrees.
SETTING UP DISPLA Y FORMA T Display Format Press T AB ke y to change f ormat from floating point to scientific notion Change to scientific notion Change to floating point Setting Decimal P oint Press .
Example: Decimal P oint 6 Please note: Once the decimal point is set, it will remain after power is off , to resume decimal point 2 (def ault), Please set the decimal point to 2 again. Calculates the antilogarithm base e of the displa yed n um- ber . Common logarithm / antilog- arithm and hexadecimal number key Press to obtain the base 10 logarithm of the display ed number . He xadecimal number F k e y (HEX mode only). Press to obtain the base 10 antilogarithm of the display ed number .
Right Shift / Complex num- ber mode key Press to delete the last num- ber ke y pressed. Press to set the comple x num- ber mode. Enter Exponent / Pi and Hexadecimal n umber key Press to enter a number in scientific notation. He xadecimal number A k e y (HEX mode only).
Press to enter an open paren- thesis in the displa y . Press to e xchange the dis- pla yed n umber with the num- ber from the working register (x -> y) Close parenthesis / statisti- cal calculation key Press to enter a close paren- thesis in the displa y .
Plus / Decimal number key Press f or addition. Press to conv ert the display ed number to a decimal number (base 10). Memory-in / statistical calcula- tion key Press to store the displa yed n um- ber into memor y . T o clear the memor y , press the ON/C ke y then the x-> m ke y .
ONE F ACT OR OPERA TIONS One-F actor operations require the entr y of only one mathematical function. The single f actor is entered into the calcula- tion when you press the function k e y . Y ou do not hav e to press = to complete the calculation. Some one-f actor functions include √ , cos, sin, tan and log.
CORRECTING O VERFLO W ERRORS If a calculated result e xceeds the dis- pla y ability or the memor y capacity , the displa y stops and E appears in the displa y . Press [ ON/C ] to resume calculating. The range of calculated results and memor y capacity are within the range of 1 x 10 -99 to 9.

APPLICA TIONS AND EXAMPLES BUSINESS Calculate the future value of a $1000 in v est- ment compounded annually at a rate of 6% f or 7 years . FV = p (1+i )n = 1000 (1+0.06) 7 = 1503.63 PHYSICS If a ball is thrown upwars with a v elocity of 75 feet per second, what is its v elocity at the end of 1.

REPLA CING THE B A TTERIES This calculator is powered b y two internal batteries LR 44 or A76. If the display gets dim or calculations slow do wn the batteries should be replaced. T o replace the batteries: 1.Remov e the six scre ws on the back of the calculator and lift off the back co v er .
