9 BEFORE USE Checking the appliance After r emoving the packaging, mak e sure the product is com - plete and undamaged and that all acc essories are presen t.
10 TURNING THE APPLIANCE OFF Whenever the co ee machine is turned o after being used to make coee , it performs an automatic rinse cycle. Danger of burns! During rinsing, a little hot wa ter ows from the c oee spouts. Av oid contact with splashes of water .
11 Please note : When in energy sa ving mode, a few seconds may elapse bef ore the rst coee is deliver ed as the appliance must heat up again. Setting water hardness For instructions on setting wat er hardness, see page 16.
12 If the coee is deliver ed too slowly or not at all, turn one click clockwise . For fuller bodied cr eamier coee, turn one click anticlockwise (do not turn more than one click at a time other - wise the coee could be deliv ered in drops). These adjustments will only be evident aft er at least 2 cups of coee hav e been delivered .
