3 IMP OR T ANT SAFEGU ARDS • Use this appliance only as described in this instruction manual. As with any electrical appliance, the instructions aim to cover as many eventualities as possi- ble. Caution and common sense should be used when operating and installing this air conditioner .
4 What ar e the Pinguino por table air conditioners? D uring the summer , optimum comfort is achieved with a temperature between 75 and 81°F (24 and 27°C) with a relative humidity of about 50%. An air conditioning unit removes excess moisture and heat from the room where it is located.
5 The instructions below will enable you to prepare your air conditioning unit for operation as effi- ciently as possible. Before use, make sure the air intake and outlet grilles are unobstructed.

Oper ation TURNING THE APPLIANCE ON Plug the appliance into the socket. Two lines appear on the display indicating that the appliance is in standby. Y ou can con- trol the appliance with the remote control (see page 11) or with the control panel. OPERA TION WITH CONTROL P ANEL Press the ON/ST AND BY button ( A ).
9 Oper ation When full, the appliance shuts down and (full tank) appears on the display. The tank must be extracted and emptied (fig. H ). Once emptied, replace the tank: the appliance starts up again.
10 Oper ation SETTING THE TIMER The timer can be used to delay appliance start up or shut down. This avoids wasting electricity by optimizing operating periods.
11 THE REMOTE CONTROL Inserting/replacing batteries (included) • Remove the back cover (see figure). • Insert two new batteries (not rechargea- ble) making sure the (+) and (-) are in the correct positions. • Replace the back cover . Note: Alkaline batteries should be used (LR03 AAA type).

16 To get the best from your air conditioning unit, follow these recommendations: • close the windows and doors in the room to be air conditioned. The only exception is when the appliance is installed through a hole in the wall. In this case, it is recommended to leave a door or window slightly open to guarantee correct ventilation.
17 Before cleaning or maintaining, turn the appliance of f by pressing the ON/ST AND BY button (A) or button (I) on the remote control and always unplug the appliance from the socket. CLEANING THE CABINET Y ou should clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth then dry with a dry cloth.
