DELTA DOC CENTER 4 - A battery can present a risk o f electric shock and high short circuit current. The following precauti on should be observed when working on ba tteries . • Remove watches, rings or other metal objec ts . • Use tools with insulate d handles .
DELTA DOC CENTER 5 2 INTRODUCTION 2-1 Theory of o peration The main topolog y of th e UPS con sists of by pass p ath, AC-DC conv erter , DC-AC inverter , battery char g er , DC-DC conv erter , control circuit and d etection circuit. Moreover , the intelligent power m anagement software is also optional .
DELTA DOC CENTER 6 In case the utility power fail, the AC-DC converter and charger will be off du ty . The DC-DC converter works and conv erts the battery v oltage into DC-BUS voltage. The DC-AC inverter conver ts the DC-BUS voltag e into AC vo ltage.
DELTA DOC CENTER 7 Intelli gent design Integrated with a microprocessor , the UPS is able to perform intelligent functions. The UPS triggers over-voltage protection function and tran sfers to “ On- Battery mode ” even when utility voltag e exceeds 300V for 200V-series.
DELTA DOC CENTER 8 2-3 Annot at ion and symbol The two signs shown on the manual indicating important inst ruction nee d to be followed. Read before Oper ation Maybe Dangerous/Follow I nstructions PROTECTIVE GROUN DING TERMINAL : A terminal which must b e connected to earth ground prior t o making any othe r connection to the equipment.

DELTA DOC CENTER 10 2. Line: The LED indicates the condition of UPS input line. I f the input v oltage is too low , too high or out of frequency this LED wil l flash. Wh en line i s blackout or ultra high voltage (>150V ac for 100-series, >300V ac for 200-series), thi s LED will lig ht off.
DELTA DOC CENTER 11 2.6 RE AR P ANEL The rear panel is expl ained as follows: (Pleas e ref er to fig 2-3, 2-4) Fig 2-3 700V A, 1KV A Fig 2-4 2KV A, 3KV A 1. OUTPUT RECEP T ACLES or T ERMINAL : The UPS supplies AC p ower to the load via these receptacles and t erminal.
DELTA DOC CENTER 12 2. I/P BREAKER : This i s used to prevent high input current from the UPS. 3. INPUT SOCKET or TER MINAL : AC input utility pow er supplies to the UPS via the s ocket or t erminal. 4. SNMP SLOT : A S NMP adapt er can be plug ged in t his port f or mana ging UPS on network.
DELTA DOC CENTER 13 3. INS T ALLA TION 3-1 Unpacking z Please read this us e r manual before ins talling the UPS. z This UPS contains batte ries which are potentially hazardou s to user , even when the UPS is not connecte d to the uti lit y power .
DELTA DOC CENTER 14 (2) Plug the other end of the power cord into a two-pole, three-wire , grounding re cept acl e only . A void using ext e nsi on cords and a dapter plug.
DELTA DOC CENTER 15 3. Charging t he battery { The battery char ger of the UPS automatically ch arg es the battery whenev er the power cord of UPS is conne cted to a acce ptabl e utility power . { When UPS i s running fo r the first time, char ge the UPS for at least 6 hours to en sure batteries ins ide are fully charg ed before operation.
